I have a Nikon D500 and a Nikkor 70-200 2.8. My settings were 1/1000 sec and ISO 2500. Should the noise level be soo bad at these settings? Or have I done something else wrong? I am on the sideline, so I'm pretty close. This was in the middle of the field. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Defiantly underexposed. Shutter speed is good for the subject and the noise is pretty low. I wouldn't mess with lowering shutter speed, I'd bump up the ISO or even Auto ISO.

I shoot a Canon R5 and I have no problem going up to ISO 6500 or more before I have to think too much about noise reduction.

It looks overprocessed to me.

There's some strange things going on at what looks like a light at bottom 1/4 from the left, and also trees bottom right.

I see it also. Looks like a masking issue on both objects. Lamp post should go away for sure. The tree ghosting is a different problem. It would be nice to see the original.

What is the best way to learn how to post process photos in Lightroom...book, online courses/downloads or something else? I really want to start processing my photos as soon as possible. Help!!!

There are a ton of free resources out there including YouTube videos. But with Adobe Creative Cloud subscription you have all the tutorials you need at your fingertips.

I am looking for insight on focusing with my D4 + 70-200 2.8. In shooting basketball when I focus on a player coming right at me one will be sharp and the rest not so much. 1/1000 at 2.8. Left to right much better, what am I missing?
Lens is calibrated, focus point 9 squares. I use bbf.
Looking forward to everyone's comments.

First shot without editing, 2nd shot went through Topaz Denoise and Sharpening

My guess is that your AF isn't set to servo auto focus. I'm also thinking the D4 doesn't have eye detection. I use Canon so I'm not sure. I'd would also change to manual mode, f7, 1200 sec shutter and auto ISO.

Hi there, I need my hummingbird to be green lol. The camera is picking the background tone instead (600mm, 1/8000s, iso 6400 f/6.3, natural light) I don’t know how to fix? Thanks! Forgot to add, I used AWB. Pretty sure that’s the issue, but these guys don’t stay still! Custom WB?

The rest of the image color appears to be correct. The iridescent colors of hummingbirds change with light directions. I think you have the correct color just as shot but you can try to turn down the flash to 1/32 or 1/4 power and try again. To me there is too much flash here. If you must change the color use color picker in post and selectively adjust the color tone to green.
The attached photo was shot with a better beamer on my flash at about 1/32 power.

I’m including 2 photos from a vacation we are on in a rental home. They are both of the same palm tree. I like the photo better from the Iphone 13 and am not really happy with the straight out of the Canon r6. If I ran the Canon photo thru Lightroom I know I can improve it. Would you do anything different with the settings?

Here’s the settings for the Canon r6 24-105, RF lens, 50mm ISO 250, f/4, 1/2500. I used landscape as the picture style in AV.

For the iPhone 13 Pro Max 37mm, iso 50, f/1.5, 1/1412.

The Canon is the first photo the second the iPhone.

If you just want to snap photos then iPhone is fine. That being said the iPhone saturates, sharpens and tones for you without having to use its edit feature. I think these cameras to camera phone comparisons are pointless.

Pretty shots. What's with the electronic collar. I don't think I approve but I'm willing to listen

The collar is a receiver so he/she can hear commands better as they run through the fields. Nothing that harms them. These dogs are treated like royalty.

For the last three years, the Wings have played indoor soccer at an indoor Arena that has very poor lighting that always requires me to set my camera on a high ISO to get proper exposure and not clip highlights. My question to you is how do I get less "noise" with my Sony ILCE-7RM4 which supports a Sony, 70-200mm, F2.8, GM OSS II lens? The enclosed image was taken at 1/1600 of a second rather than my usual 1/2000 to try to reduce noise; usual F2.8 aperture; ISO 4000 rather than 5000 to try to reduce noise. The action seems to be stopped without blurring. The histogram shows that I didn't clip the highlights despite going from 1/2000 to 1/1600 second shutter speed and from ISO 5000 to ISO 4000. Is there anything else I can do to reduce "noise" and still maintain the beauty of my image. Shooter41

An original, out of camera, shot would be a good starting point for us to compare. Fast action required fast shutter speed. Put your camera in auto ISO and manually set shutter speed (for this at least 1/1200, guessing) and f-stop to wide open. Don't be worrying about noise. There is plenty of software out there that will take care of that. Otherwise you're playing way to much with post settings and it makes the photo look...well, over processed as this one does.

Nikon D500, 300mm f/4 + TC 1.4iii.

Harsh sunlight, but the action was good. Sharpness iffy due to aggressive cropping.
Comments and critiques welcome.

As photographers we take what we can get in regards to conditions and lighting. You did quite well - props.
