It seems like a lot of Burger Kings are biting the dust. I have seen several closed and one in the same shopping center where I work at Sam's Club had a fire last year and I see no evidence they plan to reopen. It always seemed to underperform with never over about three cars in line at a time. I recently discovered a chain that holds promise. While visiting Charleston, SC last month I went to a Carvers (had never heard of them but there are about 900 I think). They have a much larger menu than the normal burger place and the food I got there was very good. One of their signature sandwiches is a roast beef sandwich which I didn't order but my friend Andy did and it looked very good -- Andy said it was. They have frozen yogurt and you can have it straight or with a choice of toppings. With the loss of better choice places like Steak and Shake which I considered a cut above the normal fast food places, I hope Carvers will come to this area in the near future. We had two Steak and Shakes here in the Lehigh Valley but both closed. Their burgers were good but their shakes were excellent.
