Thanks, I found the OEM quanity on a Bing response, only 8 ml. So the LD is a lot cheaper per cartridge and has more ink. The OEM is Canon and LD was the only 3rd party ink I found that printed properly.
Well, you are smarter than I, there is nothing on the cartridge box which is the only place I looked.
Twowindshear: Thanks, that should work and I've got the scales to do it. RMJ
Any OEM ink is expensive as everyone knows, some even say they make money selling ink and make cheaper printers to sell the ink. After trying several aftermarket inks I bought the LD products through Amazon. The colors reproduce just as well as the OEM, color reproduction was a problem on others. The LD product is much cheaper per cartridge but there is no indication how much ink is in the cartridge nor is there a quantity on the OEM cartridge. The question then is, are you really saving money if you don't know the cost per ml? Weighting the cartridge would not be valid since they could have internal differences. Anyone have an answer?
As stated earlier, I have one but not used it other than to shoot a few frames and put it on the shelf. There is a Facebook page for users and there seem to be some serious problems with various cameras and their auto focus after an interface with the unit. In short, they don't work anymore. I think mine will stay on the shelf for a few more software updates. Apparently the auto focus feature stays engaged full time and the motors don't work properly or don't work at all. (over heated or burned out?) Read it for yourself and do your own evaluation.
I agree and shoot in a lot of bursts. Gonna get some better lights and keep learning.
Thanks for the reply.
Thanks for the reply, more work is required, I can see that!
Goofy, yes a D500 and I'm going to get a speedlight. Had the SB5000 in my bag but didn't think I needed it with the hot lights. Should have done it with remote. The dark paneling didn't help. It's all a learning process and a lot different than BIF.
Clothing and should have done the clothing. Gotta get a strobe if I keep doing this type of thing.
Las Vegas area, D500, had two hot lights, not flood, compounded by dark paneling in the room. Thanks for the reply's, think I'll start pricing a good remote strobe. I love that Big Brown truck. I had the 5000 flash and should have set it up as a remote. Always a learning factor. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments.
I was asked to do some group pictures of my friends, in their home, over the holidays. I had a big problem with exposure, their darker skin absorbs light such that even with flood lights my ISO ranged up to 12,000. The group was large enough that I couldn't open the aperture and keep everybody in focus and the speed was down to 1/80. Other than more artificial lights, does anybody have any suggestions when taking photos of dark skin people. I don't have a release, so no examples of the results. One more thing, has anybody ever done noise reduction twice on the same photo? I use "Neat" and I had to do it twice to get a good shot. Any suggestions?
I'm in the crowd that bought one, it was finally delivered. I downloaded the software, read the online instructions, charged the battery, attached it to my camera, took two pictures and set it on the shelf where it still sets. Why in the world did I spend the money to do something I have fun doing myself?? I think it was the magic letters, "AI". Oh well, live and learn.
Thanks for the answers. Problem solved. RMJ
Friend wants to decoupage some prints. The material she will pour on the prints will cause them to “run”. Anybody have any suggestions on how to “seal” the prints and make the waterproof??
