With technology today, put a wide angle camera on Nose of the Engine, and a TV monitor screen in the Cab of the Engine, that would help the Engineer have better vision of what is directly in front of the Engine.
Is this a reasonable suggestion or Idea?

Looking to buy peaks design leash and capture V3 clip. Has anyone used either of these items? Is the thin strap comfy? I recently purchased the field pouch and everyday sling pack for my G9 and 100-400 lens.. Now I need strap, leash!.. Will buy new or used. Thank You!

Read good reviews for "Peak Design", although becareful you buy the correct strap, for size and weight of you camera + Lens.

I am headed up to the east coast in October to shoot lighthouses along the coast of Maine, NH, MA, and CT. On my return trip I am planning to stop over in DC to shoot some of the monuments at the blue hour and after dark. Any location recommendations or tips from anyone who has photographed around the National Mall lately? I haven't been there since the 80's so I am not sure what has changed.

Any input is certainly appreciated.

I read that a new security fence is being installed all around White House, so Photography there will be limited or possibly not allowed.

I am planning a trip to visit 5 national parks out west next June. I will be taking my D7500, and want to take just one lens. I am thinking the Nikon 18-300mm lens, is there another lens I should consider instead of this lens?

You might want a Nikon 50mm 1.8g lens . Also another Nikon "Wide angle" Prime.
I own a Nikon 18-140mm 3.5-5.6, which I have enjoyed and has had many very good reviews from other Nikon Photographer's

Been awhile since I last posted. Here a few B&W images I've taken over the past year. Each starts out in color and then converted to B&W in Lightroom with some PP in Topaz Studio or NIK Silver Effect Pro. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Wow, these images are stunningly beautiful, I as an Advanced Beginner hope to imitate these wonderful examples of B&W Photography.
Look forward to seeing more of your B&W Photography.

If you double click in the space between the trees you can barely see the Pine Grove Methodist church sign in the morning mist.

Your Download image is outstandingly beautiful. The Composition is very nicely balanced, and the perspective view of the Barn is "Spot-on" in my humble opinion. As an "Advanced Beginner" I enjoy seeing a very nice image as you have created.

The western lowland gorilla is one of two subspecies of the western gorilla. It is the smallest of the four gorilla subspecies and is the only subspecies kept in zoos in North America.

Nora was born in November 2013. Gorillas are fully grown at approximately 15 years of age. Both males and females typically leave their group on reaching adulthood.

Digital images shared in this post were captured in RAW using an EOS 5DIII and EF 500mm f/4L IS II mounted to tripod with gimbal head. Processing was performed in Lightroom and noise processing in Topaz DeNoise6.

The newest member of the gorilla group at the Brookfield Zoo was born June 1, 2018. Ali, a female, is now 14-months old and she is now allowed to explore the habitat on her own, but always within eyesight of mother Koola.

The Schmidt’s red-tailed monkey is a small guenon characterized by a distinctive white or yellow nose, white cheeks and a long, red tail. They're directly opposite the gorillas at Brookfield.

Beautiful images.
My question is, were you shooting thru Fence, Bars, or a glass enclosure, if so how did you eliminate those distraction from you images. I LOVE taking photos at our Zoo, although many times those "Distractions" to interfere with capturing a acceptable image.

The ones with one F-stop means it has a constant F-stop throughout the range. For instance, the Nikon 200-500mm F/5.6 has a constant F-stop all the way from 200mm through 500mm.

Other lenses that list two F-stops lists the F-stop at the shortest focal length, then the F-stop at the longest focal length. The F-stop of the lens changes depending on the focal length the lens is set to.

Hope that is clear.

Very clear explanation of the F-stop designation on a lens.

Hello all. A senior friend recently asked me to photograph her for her own use. I would obviously like the photo to be as flattering as possible.

Available to me are three speedlights, a boom, 2 light stands with brackets and two shoot through umbrellas. I plan to mount a speedlight to the boom and use a softbox on that light.

Given the many potential configurations for lighting, I thought I'd see if any of you have experience to share with an elderly subject. I have taken some nice shots of my children and grandchildren so I am familiar with the equipment and with several techniques (i.e. Rembrandt, Hollywood, clam shell.) I simply wish to avoid subjecting this dear woman to undue experimentation if I can, and I'm betting many here could help with that.

I've watched some tutorials and read some guides but I am unable to apply much of the knowledge I gained due to environment. My friend will be sitting on a couch in a fairly limited space. She is disabled so my options for posing her are sparse. She will likely be sitting with her back to the couch or possibly in a chair with beautiful curtains as the backdrop.

So there you have it. One camera, a 50mm f/1.8 prime, hair lighting (she has a beautiful wig) and options for key and fill lighting. If I've provided sufficient data and you instantly dream up a scenario you would employ, I would really appreciate your input.

Apologies in advance if I haven't given enough details. Thanks for any helpful, generous responses.

Hello Craig;
My best advice to you is K.I.S.S.= KEEP IT SIMPLE SILLY.
You should made sure you have or create a RELAXED Atmosphere.
As a Senior Citizen myself, I would not require a Professional Studio set-up, that would just add to any nervousness on my part as a portrait subject.
Hoping all goes well with whatever you decide.
