This is a seven minute video. Quite interesting implications.

Scary, mostly by implication. All of us, regardless of political persuasion must be alert to the fact that, more so than any time in the past, images can be manipulated so completely as to be believable yet completely false. Manipulated to arouse our anger or sympathy or loyalty. All of us are susceptible!

Take note of which organizations, at least outwardly, attempt to protect the veracity of their images and those that don't. FOX News, for example, is an organization that has argued successfully in court that it is not required to be truthful in its reporting, that it can, in fact, completely, knowingly lie in its news. It is quite probable that other "news" organizations have paid close attention to the ruling.

Search, using Google, for this: "Court of appeals + Fox News + Jane Akre" and see what pops up.

Make sure your Dell has the latest firmware. We had a hundred of them at work where the monitor would not come back on and it looked like the system was asleep. Some Windows update triggered something that was fixed by a firmware update.

This! Important to check. Had exactly the same 'unable to wake' problem on my Acer VN7-591G laptop. A BIOS (a.k.a. firmware) update corrected the problem.

Generally do not do BIOS update unless it is to correct a problem you are experiencing... such as not being able to get it up in the morning.

Is photography an art form or a way of recording memories or a way of recording history?

Yes... in the exact same way painting, sculpture, and writing are.

About as reliable as Dr. Sebi's claims

The thing that I really really love about super claims like these is that they so rarely, never?, actually quote anyone or reference any specifics that could be evaluated.

I found two statements, among many!, in the linked pages, which are so indicative of what I mean.

#1 "All those involved in the Interstate highway test runs found no gimmicks."

Consider" WHO were those involved in the Interstate (sic) highway test runs? Hmmmmm? FWIW - No one was named.

#2 "The Energy Research and Development Administration officials who viewed this invention gave a guarded evaluation, but was certain of one thingÂ… and that is this was not a hoax."

Consider: Have you ever heard of the "Energy Research and Development Administration"? I haven't. I don't believe it ever existed; however, it sure sounds official so the statements must be true! BTW - No one with the "Energy Research and Development Administration" was named.

When I ask for proof, I want actual facts which can be validated and/or verified. FWIW - If I have no chance of proving a statement is false, the statement is of no value except, perhaps, to the microbes living in the exhaled breath occurring while making the statements.

My hero in considering such claims, though I am an unworthy acolyte, was Richard Feynman the Physicist. Another is James Randi.

Did you know that back in the 50s this guy invented a carburetor that allowed a car to get 50 miles per gallon!

Um, OK. I'll bite... proof please.

Does anyone have a suggestion on a handheld GPS device at the $200-$250 price point I could use to track shooting locations then sync with Lightroom?

It's a bit more expensive; however, many people already have one... your smart phone.

I built this dual monitor rig specifically for working on Photographs. Allows me to keep Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC and the various Plug Ins in full screen mode without having to Alt-Tab between the programs. Makes workflow a lot easier with your tools all at hand.

PC is a Dell Precision 3600 with a multiple output Nvidia card.

Can I come over and play Call of Duty?

You should both stop. Two reasons.

1. Never argue with an idiot. Those watching may not be able to tell the difference.

2. The size of your male-member won't win any arguments after middle school.

And is, as well, the enemy of both the Left and the Right. Politically Correct, PC, is a catch phrase really meaning Psychological Coercion.
FWIW - I AM one of the left stompers which someone else so happily blames for PC. People who call other people names and damn them with their words should first look closely at themselves for the source of their greatest troubles.

Hmong? Wow!

Thanks, Jerry

The Hmong were exceptionally good allies during the Vietnam war. When the United States left Vietnam, as I recall, many Hmong had to flee Vietnam because of their service to the United States. It was years before they were able to migrate to the United States; but, many did make it. The Hmong are a proud and strong people from those I've known. Their help saved many U.S. GIs' lives.

Funny response. Sad that someone would even suggest such a thing.
