PFAS is in everything it seems. I suspect that your floss probably has PFAS. People complain about parts per TRILLION, which is probably the limit of detection.

If your floss doesn’t contain PFAS, it probably will pick some up from your teeth.

If you make a successful claim it is likely to be in the $10-100 range. Probably not worth the time and effort needed to do the paperwork.

I get things like that occasionally and they go right to the circular file.

The people who benefit most are the lawyers.

And, of course, the post office collects lots of postage which probably eats up a significant portion of the settlement.

Never heard that about LED bulbs. Halogen bulbs on the other hand are quartz because they run at a higher temperature. And the high temperatures along with acids from finger oils can cause failure.

LED bulbs run pretty cool and are sometimes plastic instead of glass.

In the ‘60s I wore a watch. A cheap watch. I broke a lot of them so I got a pocket calculator with a clock. Then the cell phone came along and had both.

Have not been tempted to get a watch.

But if you collect something, that’s a valid reason to get one. But it has to have value to be worth collecting.

I don’t think there’s a law prohibiting ownership of anything fake. Suppose you want to collect fake Rolexes?

Turkeys look pretty ungainly in flight but the strangest looking flying bird in my opinion is the guinea hen. The bird is almost spherical so in flight it looks kind of like a basketball with rapidly flapping wings (although the color is different).

Wild turkeys CAN fly. Domesticated turkeys are dumb enough to drown if they look up while it’s raining. Wild turkeys are smart enough to avoid hunters pretty well. Turkey poults can fly when they are 10 days old and nest in trees from then on. The hens stay on the ground after the poults hatch until they can fly. And they can be fierce.

Sounds like your group is interested in the cutting edge of technology. If that is the case, I would recommend Apple silicon, i.e. the most recent models (younger than about 2 years old). They get expensive when you start loading them up with memory and storage, something you have to do up front because you can’t upgrade them.

I used Windows for about 30 years and recently switched to Mac with an m1 chip.

Switching operating systems comes with a learning curve, partly based on muscle memory. E.g. window controls (maximize, minimize, close) are on the upper right for Windows and upper left for Mac. It still trips me up after 3 years using both systems. There are other differences that can be frustrating.

I find advantages and disadvantages in both systems. Better is dependent on what you are used to.

As far as low price goes, I think Costco sells a MacBook Air pretty cheap but it has minimal memory and storage and it’s an m1 chip (the m3 is out or close to out now). Probably not cutting edge. My wife was thinking about one for her mother to replace a 12 year old machine. Cutting edge not needed since her mother is 92.

PS: I have LR/PS on my Mac and Win10 machines but I prefer the Mac for photo work. Internet work is pretty much the same on both platforms.

Load some music onto a thumb drive and plug it in. See if it works. What could possibly go wrong?
