The Joshua Tree image is extremely outstanding, to me. What camera, lens etc did you use to capture it?

I have this lens and a 18-140mm. In extensive comparison the 18-140mm has proven to be sharper 80% of the time and has more pop. It doesn't have the reach but on my 24mp D5300 I can crop down considerably and still have a sharp image. I'm going to ask $320 for my 18-200mm.

Check this out. It is related to your inquity & by The National Association of Realtors. I know a few realtors who use a Panasonic DMC FZ 100 or DMC FZ200 with excellent results. Another friend of mine uses a Canon SX260 HS and it is hard to believe the image quality it produces.

I'm not a wedding photographer just a senior who has been taking photos for 45 years. I created the list after I shot several family and friends weddings. I've never taken close to 100 nor would I. Usually the couple only highlight/want about 30 on the list but that way they get what they want and there are no "I wish you would haves".

I've done this several times. The key is to have someone who knows the wedding party, family & friends well enough to take charge with the setup of images & expedite the process. Free weddings are generally not as well planned and it is more difficult to get the bride & groom seriously involved. It's frustrating to say the least. Here is a list I provide and have the bride & groom highlight in yellow what images they must have. I give the option of them providing a couple of 32gb class 10 cards that I give them afterwards or give them a CD from my cards. I may or may not edit. Here is the list: WEDDING IMAGES

I coached & played for forty years and have spent a lot of time photographing all levels of the game as well as the L A Kings. Generally the absolute best images come from standing at ice level along the boards. The players face is most exposed from this level and it is a more natural image with little chance of glare. Problem is finding a place where there is no plexi to distort your image. You may be able to shoot "through the glass" without a negative effect but hard to find. An open spot somewhere along the boards would be best. At the Kings games we had holes in the plexi where it was not curved. Scout ice level to see if there is a super op done there.

I have both of the following but prefer the SX280 HS for extended travel and being able to pocket it then whip it out whenever or wherever. SAFE JOURNEY

When backpacking in the wild I carry a lightweight expandable monopod. Increases camera stability and doubles as a great walking stick. I also thought a couple of times I could use it as a club or spear, if really necessary.

Hello, Go to http://www.youtube.com/ and type Canon T5i in the search field. Several titles will appear and you can select whatever appeals to you. You can also type in a subject like: wedding photography and you'll get several options to view. A good book is Perfect Digital Photography, Practical Photography or Nikon School has a small but comprehensive booklet Guide to Digital Photography.

I have several Nikon & Canon cameras. I have, and may never sell, a Canon T2i that I would strongly recommend. This camera has been exceptional for it's cost and was even used for three weddings. You should be able to buy one on Ebay for your budget allowance. I use a Canon SX260 HS as my travel camera. The 25-500mm lens assures I'll capture almost any image and the image quality is more than satisfactory, plus the extra settings are fun to play with.

Having "shot" many weddings here is my simple but seriously necessary advice. Survey the photo site with the couple a week or so before the shootl at the same time as it will occur. Have the couple show there location preference and suggest others if you feel the need . Pay close attention to the background for composition and lighting. Test several images of the couple with a few lens, settings, no flash, flash to find your best shot. Have them tell you who are their must shoots. Most important, have them recommend a family member or friend who knows as many attendees as possible. This person will be vital to you. She/he can get family sets or friend sets for images creating a good flow and no missed shots. The bride will be much busier and less accessible than the groom so you cant shoot him with just his family and/or friends before. Get the brides approval, usually to access her and her maids before the wedding. Be sure to get an image of the bride first with her father before he walks her done the aisle. Their looks and body language are magical. Have a chronological list of what images you ere going to take and give one to your helper who must understand how vital their aggressive participation is to assure the images are taken. Obviously, extra fully charged batteries, at least two cameras. Also, find a volunteer to use their quality set up, or one you provide, to walk around taking candid shots here and there. These always provide some good to great images. Don't skimp or shy away from a shot. You can always delete or edit many afterwards when you go through them. There are many videos online to help you if you just type in "wedding photography' or other key words in your search field. There's quite a bit more but I hope this is some help. Again be sure to get a super dedicated person to gather people for each shot. Use humor and tell the people you "shoot" great image etc., always shoot 3 images of each set up and pay close attention to focus, exposure & composition.
