I will not be using the live view for composing - I am a viewfinder die hard - more for review - also the much better view of settings than on the older Rebel this is a birthday present to myself as tomorrow I turn 78.

I have tons of lens and accessories just needed to upgrade the body and it's advantages.

Happy birthday, and enjoy the new camera!

Hi Harvey,
I agree with everyone about KEH. Great quality and they always seem to under grade the products.
The 7D is a good option along with the 60D.
It really depends on what you're shooting and budget.
Happy hunting and good luck.

US Route 6, which runs through Wellsboro, has been designated a scenic by-way in Pennsylvania by National Geographic.
The Pennsylvania section begins on the Delaware River Bridge in Port Jervis, NY and runs through Pa.
In Ohio it runs along Lake Erie to Sandusky, then on to Indiana. I have driven it and it is a very nice drive.
In my opinion the eastern part through the mountains has more dramatic views than the western part through farm land.
If you have the time it's worth the drive.

Edited to add:
I have driven it through Pa. to Cleveland but no farther than that.

Yeah, I live south of Sandusky and a lot of my favorite spots are on RT.6 including the very popular Magee Marsh West of Sandusky and Old Woman Creek to the East. All part of the Ohio Birding Trail. You should come a little farther west. :)

Google and look at the Deleware Water Gap. Very close to I80 and offers some amazing opportunities. ;)

Thanks David,
Looks nice and it's right on the way.
Makes me look forward to the drive, almost. :)

Pine Creek Gorge, also known as the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, is located about an hour north of I-80 near the town of Wellsboro. From I-80 take US-15 North to Pa-414 West to Pa-287 North to Wellsboro. Pine Creek Gorge is just west of Wellsboro, there are plenty of signs.
Pine Creek Gorge is especially beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing.

Thank you Mac.
I might head up there on the way back.

Hello All,
I'm driving from Ohio to New Jersey this weekend, for work, and wanted to get suggestions for good wildlife opportunities along the way. I'll be taking I80 most of the way and wouldn't want to venture more than a hour out of the way.
Thanks a lot and have a great weekend.

Kind of a nasty little reply. You could have phrased it better.

Yes, I could have.
It's been one of those days/weeks/months.....

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you had to explain to me your reasons for selling. My apologies; no insult intended. I was just interested in whether it was performing well in your opinion after it was returned or was still lacking again in your opinion. I've heard both good and bad regarding this lens, especially with regard to Canon versions.

I understand that the Canon lens, albeit 200 mm shorter on the long end, it likely to be a superior performer in almost every other way but at double the price.

Just looking for clarification, that's all.

I apologize for my curt reply earlier.
I've felt bad about this all day.
ItÂ’s been a bad string of days at work and didn't have much time.
It kind of felt like you were questing me, to find out what I was hiding, rather than asking questions about the lens.
It did have the well known focus issue and that was why I stated I sent it in to the Service Center.

I have the 400L which has become my primary lens after getting the 7D2. I use the 100-400 when in close quarters or the light is just too bad for the 400, and (I think) you're right about the sharpness.
I've read a ton of reviews and posts that say the Tamron is just as sharp and for all I know it's user error. :)

Again, I'm sorry for earlier.

Yes it is working better.
I don't have to explain myself to you, sir.
Have a nice day.

What caused you to switch from the Tamron to the Canon?

No matter what I tried I couldn't get a sharp image.
That's why I sent it in for the updates.

It depends on the type of photography you do.
I've had the 60D for a long time and 6D for almost a year.
I shoot mostly wildlife and I found myself always taking both.
I just got the 7D2 and it's great!!!
I'm finally getting the BIF shots I couldn't manage before.
If you're into other things then you'll love the 6D.
Like the others have said, the ISO performance will blow you mind compared to the 60D, but AF isn't great for a lot of action.
Good luck....isn't it nice to have such a problem? :)
