Received mine yesterday, on time
PS sorry forgot to mention it was a HP laptop with Windows 10
Happened to my wife, take it to Best Buy they can do their thing without wiping it clean. Think Geek Squad charged $40 & no problems
Very much enjoyed your post Alissa, looks like quite a trip with some fantastic photos to remember it by. Thanks for sharing!
Hi, what I do is have a main folder (I use camera name) then a Folder for each year (2016, 2017 etc). Within each year there is a folder for each month (01 for Jan, 02 for Feb etc) which keeps them in order). Then within each of those folders I create a folder which is specific to those photos (trip name, occasion etc.)
Not that complex but it works for me, hope it helps.
Lol, I have plenty of experience!
Finally there is success! Was on with Nikon Cust Svc for awhile tried 2 different cards & a lot of hmmms from him it finally worked. Walked through what I have been doing & he confirmed everything was correct. Did it with him twice & it finally worked. Glad that it took him so long too, I had followed the instructions to the letter. Thanks everyone for hanging in with me & I can safely say it wasn't me who couldn't follow directions. Again appreciate the help & input.
Spider223 that was going to be my next thing to try.
Thanks
Camera says 1.0 update is 1.01
That's what happened 1st time. After talking w Nikon cyst support & recommendations here I did extract the .bin file & copied to root directory of card. After inserting card into camera & going to firmware it only shows original, nothing stating that update available or anything.
I am having same firmware update problem with my D5300, see my recent posts. Called them directly but after following their instructions I still had no luck.
Well, apparently that isn't the problem. I extracted the file as instructed, copied to card , ejected & then to camera. Still not recognizing the new file. Another call to Nikon I guess.
Thanks everyone, apparently the file I downloaded is a zip file that needs extracted. This seems to be similar to what SparkyNYC had to do & what mborn indicated. I will give that a shot this evening after I get home from work.
Thanks for all of the input!
Hi, I noticed that there was an update for my D5300 and decided to install.Twice I downloaded & tried to install but the camera does not recognize the file on the card. Did not want to proceed beyond that for fear that I might do more damage than good. Below are the steps I took:
Format card in camera
Downloaded file onto my Mac
Copied to card (yes to the root directory of the card)
Ejected card from Mac
Inserted card in camera & then turned on
Went to firmware version - did not get notification of update available
That's where I left it,as I said did go any further. Didn't want to take any chances of doing any harm.
Any suggestions, did I miss something/ do something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated, unfortunately no camera stores in Pittsburgh so I am relying on the community.
Thanks for looking & taking your time
Try Macphun Aurora HDR, originally strictly a Mac product but they just released a Windows version. Very impressed & easy to use, wide variety of filters & wont break the bank. Check it out they have a trial version & you can find specials.
