The Sony 18-105 is a very good lens. It is an f/4 lens and is not as sharp as a GM lens, it is not image stabilized but it does a very good job. It is an E mount lens so on your A6000 it becomes 27-157. The new price from b and h is $598, a used lens is $525. The price difference is slight which in my opinion speaks to the value of the lens. This lens is great for video. You might want to take a look a this lens. Good luck.

I think the image in front of the building is pretty simple. The lights on the building are existing there is a back light on the couple with probably a 1/4 CTO on it about 1/2 power Speedlite providing the back light, the main light is off to the right with 1/2 CTO about 1/2 power probably medium sized soft box. Not too hard of a lighting set up. Have fun it’s just a another fun day.

Very well done. You hit the exposure just right. Not that easy to do all the time..

Tripod
Wireless remote
F stop 13
ISO 100
Shutter speed 5 sec.
Set lens focus on first shot using AF then set camera to manual focus and all shots will be in focus

Adjust your f stop up f16 if the shot is too light.

Adjust the shutter speed shorter or longer according to the background of fireworks. Longer shutter speed lighter background, shorter shutter speed darker background.

Adjust your f stop first.

I use Live View to set focus. For fireworks the viewfinder just doesn’t work for me. It might for you. The purpose is just to have fun.

Another impulse buy should be the Lens Pen. I had one for years and never used it until someone on UHH mentioned looking at the website. I did not rotate the cap to activate the charcoal. This is the best lens cleaning device ever. I now never use anything else.

Have a great trip! I took a 24-70 and a 70-300. I didn’t need and thing else. Take rain gear for you and your camera and forget about tripod and monopod. There is so much light you won’t have any problem with taking any picture.

Let me give this a try. Others have told you what needs needs to happen but here are the steps I use. You will need to use a flash with high speed sync. ISO 100, Aperture wide open, adjust the shutter speed until you get the background as you like it (usually higher speed). Don’t touch the camera settings after determined. After this is finished then turn on the flash set the flash to high speed sync and and determine how much fill you will need to properly light your subject. It might take a few shots but not many. It is not hard and kind of fun you will get good at it. Often I defuse my flash and use off camera flash which helps a lot. Have fun it’s a fun puzzle.

I use the Peak Design Clutch and Sling Bag. I have their straps but I rarely use them anymore. Take a look at these options they are very good along with many of the other good suggestions you have received.

I might be able to help answer the question. I owned the 70-300 G master lens. It is a very good lens. It works flawlessly on the Sony cameras. However the 100-400 is simply amazing. It is a very big lens, not as big as the canon or Nikon version but still big. If you compare sharpness the 100-400 wins hands down. I use it on the 6500 (sports and wildlife) and A7rll (portraits and general use). If I had the choice I would go with the 100-400 but cost and weight are factors. I might suggest to rent the lens. I think I am going to rent the 1.4 teleconverter.

I have the same question. From what I’ve read the 1.4 seems good but the 2.0 looses some sharpness. For $550, I wonder if it is worth it. The lens is so sharp I don’t want to loose any of that and the very quick focus.
