I was in Zion this spring on the last 2 days one could drive through the park. Very crowded. No place to park. It was easy to see why they have the shuttle policy.
I was recently at Zion and threatened with arrest and fine for driving my car into the canyon. Hadn' t been there in several decades. I innocently followed 2 other cars in.A surly shuttle driver told me no cars were allowed as he was radioing my license # to headquarters.
Am not seeking sympathy here- just a warning to others who may visit during tourist season.
As Ed Abbey warned 40 years ago we are loving our NPs to death!
the whole picture is grand michael. the beautiful colors of the canyon and the gorgeous blue sky, the lone tree on the cliff edge...quite spectacular, especially in dl.
