These are some rather early works I made when I first started learning my way around the digital darkroom. They are simple constructions and all use some stock web imagery. That is to say I didn't actually photograph the Parthenon in Rome or the Great Pyramid at Cheops. But I did see the Nile River from the air. Twice by day and once at night. Of course I flew right past Mt. Fuji in Tokyo Japan when I was there. (For half a day) Spent a bad 8 hours in Beirut Lebanon too, but that's a different tale. The images are not to abstract, and it's more representative than distortion.

Working outside in the cool of the night moon

Wow! I was going to ask how. But sometimes things are better left unknown. It's beautiful. I'm not even going to analyze it,,,,just enjoy it. Very serene.

Ok Alex this is the original plaster shot with a 15-30mm lens zoomed in camera

Awesome. Still looks like meat with a rind of fat. But yes,,sheetrock/plasterboard. The layers of plaster as its scraped off the putty knife is successive finish strokes. (I can see a two or three inch wide knife in your hand as you do it.) It'd make a GIF in my minds eye. Seeing the base image reveals the track of the sliding door on the right. :) Tactile memory of wet smelling plaster. Thank you CS,,,it takes me back.

I'm gonna find my best picture and poosstt itt rrigghtt now, beep beep.

This image reminds me of a forced flame. The cooler blue and the hotter orange/red. The diagonal axis belies a flame in still air and without force. Hence I see a flame that has purpose and is driven.
The next picture is always the best one. I'm still searching for it too.

Plastered for Easter

Well I see it too literally. Tis not a pie nor cream M-lady. It's a slice or two of animal carcass, mutton perhaps, and in the cooler no less. OK so maybe its behind a stand up refrigerator. Looks like a condenser coil I spy. (Professional license.) Of course in this field of smoke and mirrors, things of light and less tangible spirit, are seldom what they appear. It is beautiful now, to those of artistic vision, no matter the source. Its the pragmatist, and burden of worldly exposure that reigns my fading eye. :)

Hope I get it right this time...File must be too small to be able to see it in download even though I can zoom in on it in Lightroom...

That's cool. You can call me Alex (as long as you call me). Your right about exploring the world through the lens. I like this layed back easy going attitude at UHH. I've met the best people. Unlike some sites like Red Bubble, where alot of folks are up-tight, ultra critical, in a hurry. Catch you later!

I like that Crepe Myrtle. It'll really be beautiful when it grows out and blossoms. You shoot it like I would. From below with the blue sky as a background. Very nice. I'm so glad spring is here. Well, I gotta get up at 5am, so I'm going to call it a night. Catch you later.

I followed the link Bruce. It is amazing the detail in your images. I can see individual bird seed in the feeder, the shadow under their talon/claw, the little hair like feathering, the light reflecting in the eye. Pics like this get into Birds and Blooms Magazine. This is almost maco level portraiture. My fav is the yellow bellied sap sucker. If I could get quality images like this from my kitchen,,,I'd never leave the house,,lol. Very good work. Keep it up.

How "Fitting!" A "Brazen" attempt at humor. Uh,,,water or air-conditioning? Nice macro. Reminds me of work, (That I used to could do) a lot of. I recall a comment about a bathroom wall a few days ago. I was a maintenance type, millwright, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, welding, mechanic on everything for about 35 years. I would draw it and take pix of it too. Maybe a great new topic to start. (Work that I've done?,,,,The lose nut behind the wheel?,,,You NAILED it?) OK so I miss it. (Forced to quit due to disabilities.) I like this kind of industrial art. (But I'm an old eccentric too.) :) I like that stack of Cu. Great macro. I get bored with flowers and birds after awhile, don't you?

I used to wrench on it all, and draw it too.

Gear train to no where.

Thanks for your words cyberscriber

"The wonderful world of color." Oops. Your a Brit. Age unknown. It was the name of the weekly Sunday night Disney TV show, back in the 60s,,,when lots of young Americans with long hair did "colorful mind expanding" Timothy Leary endorsed recreational substances. Not that I did. Not that I can remember. Well not all the time.

Thank you CarlySue and Photophile. My mother had gone with me to Flagler Memorial Presb. Church to shoot the interior. (I posted some pix of that shoot in "Photo-Gallery" yesterday). It has unique Stained glass too. (Supposedly the only Church in America with the Nicene Creed written in the Stained Glass). It is special, and was installed in 1891(I think). Right after the interior shoot at Flagler, my Mom brought me over to Trinity and we just walked right in. Trinity Parish is so special. The faces look so realistic, and the colors so bright. I was in town in Feb 2014 and saw that Trinity Parish was doing renovation. My Mom lives in St. Augustine, and turns 93 next month. It a joy to share these inspirational images. :) God Bless, and Happy Easter!
