I use a dell PC and have a lot of external storage devices I plug in and unplug as needed.

I am now needing more space, so I bought a WD 5 TB device refurb, but could NOT get it to download or connect to my PC, so have returned it as defective.... when I followed the instructions provided, it kept going in circles and finally stated this model [elements] is discontinued, despite just buying it from a refurb store... so this is why I just asked for a refund...

Now today, I was attempting to buy a SEAGATE 6 TB external device and asked them via chat as to whether IT will work with my WIN10 Software and I could NOT get a straight yes or no... I am older and usually just plug these devices into my computer and then see IT appear on my PC window without having to do anything techy...

So MY QUESTION: attached is my computer layout and the unit I want to buy... will it work simply on my PC or do I need to make arrangements with a neurosurgeon to add 6 TBs to my current system? thanks for any constructive help...

I've bought Dell XPS 8920, 8930, and now an 8940. My external drives worked immediately on each one of them as soon as I plugged them in.

Can anyone offer a good reason why some cars have DRL and some do not? Unlike other countries, DRL are not required on all cars. As far as I'm concerned, they should be. Cars without lights get lost in the sea of cars with DRL. I'd think that manufacturers would like a law covering all cars because it would be one system for every vehicle.

Many states require headlights when wipers are turned on. Some people "cheat" by keeping the lights off when they run intermittent wipers. It's not the wipers themselves that require headlights; it's the reduced visibility during rainy weather. If I set the lights on my Fit to Auto, they turn on whenever I turn on the wipers.

It's cheaper to make the cars without them. But, on the more expensive cars of any line they are part of the package.

Olives or even full meals I can do without. The four bolts securing a door blanking plate are a different matter. Also the software faults that caused over 350 passengers to lose their lives. There is no shortage of information about Boeing weakening their previous strict safety protocols in a chase for increased profit. Over 40+ years of air travel I have never worried about different manufacturers' quality controls but that has changed over recent years.
I trust that those who seem to suggest that there is nothing wrong with the current Boeing company actually still travel on their planes rather than just preaching loyalty from their rocking chairs.

I hear you, but you seem to have a selective memory. Apparently, you don't remember Air France 296Q, Gulf Air 072, TAM 3054, Air Asia 8501, Germanwings 9525, or PIA 8303, etc. There were 876 lives lost in the crashes of these A320's. I could list more but I think you get the point.

I have and will continue to fly on both Boeing and Airbus aircraft (any model), as long as they are flown by a major international airline. Both manufacturers make the safest planes available, and all of them are safer than ground transportation. For that matter, you are more likely to die sitting in your rocking chair than on a Boeing or Airbus product!

I believe the reporting was incorrect. According to the FAA, there was only one door insert missing bolts and that was the one that blew out. After inspection of all the door inserts that had been made, there were a few that needed to be tightened to meet the specified torque specs, which was easily done. All the planes were then released for flight.

Let's give the faker credit, he did some homework and got the bank's headquarters address and name of the CFO correct. But he then made some grammatical errors in the text and made the dumb mistake of writing "million dollars" immediately after writing "$36,000,000.00."

They are getting better, but not good enough to really fool people who graduated from high school.

Give the faker credit for doing some homework. He got the corporate headquarters address and name of the CFO correct. But the year of the bank's founding is wrong. And he made some grammatical errors in the text along with the mistake of writing the word "millions" following the numerical expression of the total value.

By removing one olive from the salad, United saved $50,000 in expenses. That started the ball rolling to save hundreds of millions by eliminating meals.

Recent news regarding Boeing has been really scary and I shall certainly be looking for airlines that use Airbus until Boeing gets its quality control sorted. I wonder how many people who still support Boeing, despite the numerous safety breaches, actually regularly fly themselves. Loyalty to major US manufacturers is fine up to a point but that point has been thoroughly breached recently.

As if a resident of the UK doesn't have loyalty to the European-made Airbus unless a family member flies a Boeing?

Airbus and Boeing both make good airplanes. But, the last time I checked, there were more airlines flying Boeing planes than Airbus. And there were more Boeing planes flying than Airbus.

I absolutely believe a company should make a profit to thrive and be successful. However, the company and its upper management must also accept the responsibility of doing what is not only best for the company but also what is best for its customers.

It is now clear through Boeing documents that upper management knew of the issues concerning MCAS and approved of the decisions not to mention it to the airlines and pilots when including it in the 737 MAX. They also knew that it was likely that MCAS had played a role in the Lion and Ethiopian air crashes but chose to misdirect shift responsibility onto the airline and pilots. Even after MCAS was cited as a possible cause, Boeing chose to continue to offer misinformation and denial. It was only after all the damning evidence came out that they finally accepted some responsibility.

As far as profits go, Boeing was a profitable company before the McDonnell Douglas merger when quality was still more important than share price. It was after the merger that Boeing started running into problems with technical and quality issues after downsizing their workforce and quality departments.

Would you please share with me the Boeing documents that show "upper management knew of the issues concerning MCAS and approved of the decisions not to mention it to the airlines and pilots when including it in the 737 MAX." I have not seen any such documents and would like to see exactly what they say.
