Website is now down, the eBay store is still up but no merchandise and the store property is listed for sale. I'm guessing they are defunct.
If there is a UHHer who lives in Amityville or nearby, maybe they have more info

I was hoping a new owner would relaunch Cameta but it looks like that is not going to happen. I went online after a friend told me he saw a "for sale" sign on the property and saw it was listed on some commercial real estate sites. I'm sure COVID played a significant role in any new owner taking on the risk of a retail camera store especially on the south shore of Long Island.
Let's hope we don't see more stores like Cameta vanish away.

First, I hope you are healthy and thanks for serving your patients in what is surely a difficult environment. I used to work at ORMC and Jackson and still consult all the way from Baptist up the coast and all I hear are the horror stories of full ICUs, patients becoming ill in SNFs and ALFs and let's not even discuss the bars along A1A. Even as far back as March when they cancelled HIMSS in Orlando, the writing was on the wall that Florida was going to be a hot spot for COVID as time went on.
I would not want to be a doc in FL now. just hope you, your colleagues and everyone involved in patient care come out of this OK.
Best of luck and stay healthy - Jeff G

I have friends who are docs and nurses who are now parked and living n their RVs and trailers on the hospital property. They even have electric and water hook-ups. Except for emptying the black water holding tanks, they say it's not too bad.

Masks are like condoms- they only work if you use them. Otherwise you are taking a big risk no only for yourself but others around you.

As both a physician and a business traveler, I have chosen NOT to fly for a number of reasons.

First, your travel is not just in the plane, but your risk of exposure begins as you enter the airport. These are areas of high concentration and the obvious risk of contamination is ever present. Plus you must come into physical contact with surfaces such as baggage belts at TSA checkpoints, chairs, etc. where you cannot guarantee they are properly sanitized to protect you and others. While airports do look to maintain social distancing, it is easier said than done especially when boarding and deplaning.

Airlines are in the business of making money and not keeping you safe from contracting an illness. As an example, AA recently announced they will no longer keep the middle seat open to lower the risk of contamination. Yes, you must wear a mask and no food will be served, however as most flights are turned around in a short period of time, you have to decide if the airplane you will be flying on for perhaps upwards of 3+ hrs heading to Florida will provide you with adequate protection against a disease with a high probability of airborne and contact contamination. Once you land you still have to walk through high-concentration spaces to leave the airport and claim you bags. And finally, you most likely have to rent a car or take a cab/Uber which can further increase your risk of exposure.

In my own situation, we had a large family event planned for late August in S. Florida. The host took the decision to cancel the celebration and to move the date so that the actual ceremony could be seen on ZOOM by family and friends. No one has complained and most have actually thanked the hosts for recognizing that maintaining one's health is more important than a 4-hr gathering.

Hopefully by winter things will return to normal (or whatever normal will be) however FL is experiencing an explosion of COVID-19 and when you factor the reality that we still have to contend with a Flu outbreak beginning in the Fall, you may want to plan otherwise. In any case, please stay healthy and just be smart to protect both you and your loved ones.

You were very lucky. Does it have a US Nikon warranty instead of the Abe's of Maine store warranty, If it doesn't then maybe you are not so lucky

If you contact the lens manufacturer, they will more than likely tell you that they will not cover the lens for warranty work.
Just save yourself the trouble and aggravation and buy it from a reputable company.

I've used Wasabi batteries first on my D7000 and now for my D7200. Never a problem and I saved a lot. I also have a Vello battery grip which extends the amount of shots I can take so the combination of the two works out well for me

Stick with the reputable companies (B&H, Adorama, KEH for used but reliable equipment). Abes's from Maine is a grey market, bait and switch shop. They thrive on olks looking for a a cheap deal but who are not too knowledgeable about products.

Enjoy the grip. It's certainly a worthwhile investment. I work a lot of airshows as a pilot volunteer and know how great these photos can be, especially the old warbirds. When I'm not moving planes around I use a tripod as well with a Tamron 100-400 and get great shots.
A lot of sellers live on their 5-star ratings and if you like the grip and you got it on time, etc, then you should consider giving the seller a good rating and most likely, he'll give you 5-star rating as a buyer so you both win.

My household is 100% bilingual (English and French) and often we have a great laugh reading the English translation across the bottom when the speaker lets loose in French. More often than not it is "sanitized" as well a shortened to fit into a couple of words. Plus you lose the emotion and humor that a native speech will ofen have. So we look to find which button to push on our TV to go the the original language and skip any translation.

I've used grips on my DSLRS since my D5000. Now I use a grip on my D7200. Yes it adds weight but it makes handling my camera that much easier and also provides me with extended battery capacity on long shoots where I need extra power.
