I just read that the best solar panels are aprx 22% effective. If we can develope panels that are 2,3 or 4 times that and a simple, safe way to store power for night etc then I might consider solar. As it is with the shape of the roof of my house even the solar people told me I didn't have enough room to install a full array.

Sunlight provides about 1000 watts per square yard. According to my back of the envelope calculations, 22% translates to around 200 watts per square yard of collector. That is around a Kilowatt Hour per day per square yard of collector. That's not too bad. How many KWh do you use per day? Storing it for evening and night time use is the biggest problem.

Sufficient energy from the sun that falls on the earth for one hour is sufficient to supply man's current energy needs for one year. So, agree, we currently have a sun-energy storage problem not an energy problem.

Dim arabbas have a long way to mature.

But I doubt she's progressive or worldly enough!!

Wonder which kills more wildlife, including birds, wind turbines, solar collectors etc, or cats left out to roam?
Good point. Cats love to kill birds, and some just for the fun of it that are not hungry.

Perhaps, pandering, but is it by Americans selling a product (capitalism) or a person taking advantage of American capitalism in an attempt to make money (get rich). Both are capitalistic in design.

Cloudy again today, but had some soft light.

I miss focus on the eye on #2, but still nice picture.

Super. I love those colorful Yellow Tiger swallowtails. Send them north to Ohio. I usually do not get them until late Spring or later.

This is the same species that I have been posting lately. They are small (1/2" long), brown, & very docile. This one appears to have only one feeler (unless I need new glasses, lol). Downloading is recommended.

Such good detail on download. Thanks. Wonder if he/she lost the one feeler in a fight?

Went back to my strength today since I walked quit a bit yesterday and needed the break. I used my Canon 100-400mm lens with the Canon 1.4 TC III on most of the photos. All the details will be with each photo as usual. The heavy tripod was used with no remote. I meant to take that with me today but just plain forgot it. ALL C&C is welcome since I have a long way to get this digital photography under my control. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your comments. I really do appreciate the time it takes for you to do that.

Really good shots. Tufted titmice (I think they are titmice) are my favorites. Thanks for sharing.
