It has always amazed me that Chevy produced the ugliest cars for three years running then they came up with the 61. I was always partial to the bubble top, but the drop top is right there with it. This is a really beautiful example.
Thank you so much!!

On the final approach to dinner - last of the cooking, then the eating. I'll PM you later. Though not in the same class, I have a '79 Scottsdale C 20 3/4 ton Ranch pickup I've been working on for a couple of years. Still has to be the Ranch truck, so will never be a show piece.

That’s OK long as you love it and you enjoy driving it

Great car! Brings back a lot of memories - a guy I went to college with was almost expelled for being a 409 fanatic! Long story.

I would love to hear that story!!

Very nice car.

I've always had a soft spot for the Impalas. In high school there were a lot of them from the 60's. Abundant, cheap and easily hot rodded. A good friend restored a '60 convertible with his dad for his first car. Beautiful. The kid next door had a '65. The twins on the next block over had a pair of '64 convertibles.
Those wonderful memories

My first car was a '68. (I was trying to find a '65.) Not the coolest looking but, got it for a great price. And it was almost rust free. That's saying a lot for a MN car. Bought it from a little old lady that only drove it on Sunday. Literally. Didn't have the heart to tell her what my plans were for it. Lol.

Raced and drove the heck out of it for about 5 years. Had a ton of fun in it....in more ways than one.
Very nice car. br br I've always had a soft spot... (show quote)

We’re all looking at your great photos and wishing we still had ours.

I would like to share my beautiful 1961 super sport impala convertible with you she’s almost 60 years old has factory air conditioning and has every conceivable option they had in 61 except power windows
If you remember back in 1961 the Beach boys sang about my car do you remember 409?

Your gorgeous Impala brings back fond memories. My Dad owned a duplex and our neighbor bought a new '61 (so, I was 13) convertible. It was white with red/white houndstooth seats. He took me for a few rides. I've always admired that car. Good for you Lone Ranger. I used to look out my bedroom window and drool.

Thank you for your kind words every time I get ready to drive my impala it always puts a smile on my face brings back a lot of memories every time I get behind the wheel and I either go to a car show or just out for a drive

Very nice, but 238 miles a year? 10,000 miles is 2 or 3 good road trips.

I’m the second owner of my car the first owner had it in storage for 35 years since I’ve owned it I put about 2000 miles on it take it to and from Car Show‘s pretty much it’s just a beautiful car drives very very well the air-conditioning blows ice cold and it’s a joy to drive
