Buy from KEH no taxes if out of state
Buy from NIKON you pay taxes.
There is no area in this image that is sharp, but everyone has their own acceptability of image IQ.
Wolfiebear, The F11 looks OK but the F4.5 is very poor on left side even at a quick glance you see it is darker than the right. The F22 left side is still not good though it is better than the F4.5. If you are striving for (as good as you can get quality in your images "Go with your strongest feeling, make the decision for quality and move on you won't regret it.)
I set my color space to Adobe RGB and printer (Epson R3000) to Adobe RGB, Prints match what I see on the monitor,(Mac).
#1 is much more pro looking, with: 1 take lettering off shirt and do away with objects in the for ground.
The TRUTH would not know how to get out between his lips!
Darker one... But a little lighter
I have one, as sharp or maybe sharper than the nikon 300-f4,
the auto-fouces works on the D300.

The Nikon 16-85mm is very good (sharp from 16mm to 80mm)
at 80-85mm corners begin to get a little soft, but you will be hard pressed to find any better at the 16-85 price. I've had mine about a year, love it. If a lens is not sharp I will not own it.
Tokina told me last week they will have a 70-200mm 2.8 out around the end of July. Could be worth checking out.
They are only a"middle man" for business they push! Their profit interest is the only concern they have. You can get better deals on anything they offer from others, They will flood your mail box with their junk mail for the rest of your life!...NOT WORTH IT... and in most things political go their own way no mater what their members have to say... and thats all I have to say about AARP.
