OK! I am complaining! how about those Americans who aren't Christians? Are they supposed to convert or die too. I spent 22 years in the Military to make sure everyone can pray (or not) in any manner they want to. That photo actually discusts me. I see that you replaced the torch of FREEDOM.

Nope, you don't need to convert. Faith and choice are pretty much an individual thing, Christian or not. But, I do feel somehow sad for you.

Great!

Thank you for sharing. I'll be running over to Memphis soon and will look for it to see in person.

Always good to meet buyer at a bank. Lots of cameras and open enough. Like others said, get cash before releasing item.
If your bank - go in and deposit immediately (no cash in car).

I thought stabilization was a pretty much a "cure-all" for these old hands but, it is not.
Don't count "too much" on IS or VC or any other stabilization. You still need to be quite steady at long mm's. For stunning sharpness you may still need tripod or some other support (tree, fence, etc). But, you do turn stabilization off with tripod.

It helps but, for me, I don't feel it is worth the difference in price.

Try renting one for a day.

Sure would be great if Canon and 3rd parties did the same. And, maybe they do.

Thanks everyone. If I do buy, I'll be looking for the waranty card first.

First let me state - they are legitimate products made by Nikon or Canon.
They have not entered the US through Nikon or Canon distribution channel.

I don't know if their is a comparable website for Canon and other manufacturers but for Nikon users:

Nikon has long used the first digit of the serial number to indicate region for many of their products:

1-Not used
2-Japan
3-USA
4-Europe (excluding UK)
5-Canada
6-Australia/New Zealand
7-Asia (excluding Japan)
8-United Kingdom
9-Not used

Nikon users can go here to check on lens serial numbers:

If you buy at a place like B&H they will provide the manufacturers warranty however Nikon and Canon usually will not honor the warranty for gray market except for special cases like the Nikon D600 shutter which you can take any D600(even used and out of warranty) to any service center in the world and they will fix it.

I prefer to buy legitimate products but, occasionally buy something used. Is there any way to determine if a used product (particularly lens) was legal import or grey market? If it was grey market and you eventually send for reair, what happens???

Thanks,

Thanks all. And, I do now see the importance of not just making frame out of vignette.

Thanks again,

Trying to get above the basics in elements.

I like how this turned out even though I may have done too many things to it. Masking, black/white, vignette, etc

Nice shot Regis, especially for macro lens. I have the same lens but, haven't used it lately.

I am a real estate photographer. I set the exposure for the windows and add flashes to expose the interior. Sometimes I have to layer the shots to get a good view out the window. I don't use HDR because it does not look as nice or realistic.

I use dropbox to share the photos with my clients.

Here is one I just shot yesterday. I used no HDR and no layering in any of these shots.
This is another shoot that was the most difficult I have done because the house was decorated in very dark colors and I had to pull out all my flashes to light it.

Really nice set and nice house. I see those shower doors catch most everyone (like 22 & 24). Bet you have a satisfied customer. Did you video walk through too?

I am currently doing interior photos for several local Realtors, and hope to get better results with some advice from UHH. I am using the Canon 5D with a 16-35 'L' lens, set up for aperture priority and post processing with LR5 and Photoshop. My goal is to allow exterior images such as green leaves, trees, etc. to appear through the windows, and believe that HDR might be the answer. Would anyone have any suggestions?

That would be interesting from photographer point of view. But, as a former realtor folks want to see interior and exterior. A clever shot like you are talking about would not get much appreciation. A video clip walking up to that window/door and then continuing outside would also be cool.

Just a thought.
