Hi everyone,
First, a big "thank you" for the thoughtful member comments on my post. I am one that is open to constructive criticism and when delivered in the right way, there is a chance I would use it. I would never offer a condescending comment as the one in question, but I suppose some people are very proud of what they think they know. Even though it can be right, it's all about the way it is delivered. I know I have some downward price adjustment to make on my lens and will do so. What is most bothersome in this case is the insinuation that I might be trying to take advantage.
This lens is used, but in excellent+ cosmetic and physical condition. Comes with lens case, UV and polarizing filters. I am the sole owner and have taken very good care of it.
Photos available on request. PayPal for payment. Thanks
Hi, Sorry for the delay in replying. I bought this from an individual and he had used it about as much as I have...hardly any. It was not even registered with Canon, so when I bought it, I did the initial registration. It is truly in mint condition. Any other questions, please let me know.
This lens has been used very little. Just didn't get into macro like I thought I would. In mint condition. Front/end caps in factory box. Payment via PayPal. Shipping included within USA. No international.
Looks like we covered some of the same ground in Fernandina and surrounds. I looked at your macro shots and really enjoyed those. You obviously have a good technique getting closeup like that. Thanks for sharing.

The "Greenway" is a part of Fernandina Beach on Amelia that the city has kept natural and restored the once blocked waterways that fed the area. Now it thrives with vegetation and wildlife. It has clear cut walking paths, but can be buggy and hot. Jasmine Street off the main drag will take you there.
Thanks to everyone for all the tripod information & where to buy. I like to have options and there were several types of support ideas offered. All to be helpful in making my decision.
I am in the market for a new tripod and ball head. My camera is Canon 7D and the lens is a Sigma 150-500. Total weight is about 7 lbs. My budget is in the $300.00 range. Anyone having experience with a tripod supporting a long lens & camera of these specs would be appreciated. My current setup is not as rock-solid as I need, although for the $75 I spent on the Dolica Proline, it is a pretty good tripod for lesser weights and focal lengths. My subjects are wildlife, primarily birds. Thanks for any input.
Thanks for your reply. I think it's amazing what you do with Elements 5 and shooting in JPEG. I would expect a reply of RAW and Lightroom to achieve your results. BTW, is there any particular post process function you attribute to the detail ; i.e, unsharp mask, etc? I have fooled around in Element10, Canon Photo Professional and can't seem to get what I would like relative to what you do.
Hi Larry,
I'm veering off the lens subject a little, but aside from high end optics, I was wondering how you achieve the sharp definition and feather detail on your bird photos. If you have something you might share about the post-processing techniques, it would be much appreciated. Everything in your gallery is superb!
