I have had the D800 for almost 2 years now. The one thing I didn't do was check the AF with all my lens. AF fine-tune "EACH LENS" is important! They all were different. See page 338 in the manual.
Oh if she only know how to hold it!
I have the 16-35 F4, 24-70 F2.8, 28-300 and the 70-200 F2.8. I just can't lug them all around with me when traveling and that's why I have the 28-300. I will take the 16-35 as well for those tight shot.
Just think how the "mailman" feels!
The sand is so white at Panama City Beach that it will test you and your camera! Is the Air Force base still open? I spent 2 years there as a photographer and lab man back in 1968-70.
I use a Nikon D800 and travel with 28-300mm lens and I'll also have the 16-35mm with me for tight interiors and landscapes.
Wow, your images do have a tonality difference but if you printed on a lower contrast paper you would have a better match. Of course there is grain with the film version. Go Devils!!!
I've been using the F2.8 for a long time and love it! I also have the 2X extender that makes it a sweet 140-400 F5.6. That's cheaper than buying another long lens...
I was in aerial recon during the Vietnam war. I was stationed in Thailand and Vietnam. We used F4C's with cameras under both wings, one on the nose and a 180 degree camera under the belly. We also started using drones for recon over Hanoi (smaller target) that would drop in the sea for the Navy to pick up.
