Let me see if I understand this correctly: We've never spoken or met, you know nothing about me, yet because I express an opinion different from yours I'm unreasonable. Is that it? That's a real mature, intelligent and oohh sooo reasonable way to continue a conversation. I'll try to keep this simple. Again, the car death argument is not valid. Cars are built for transportation, for getting from one place to another. The reason for their development and manufacture was not to kill people. People do get killed by cars yes, we generally call those deaths AN ACCIDENT! They were not meant to happen, something went wrong. If you shoot somebody with a gun of any type, your intention is to kill or injure them. See the difference or will pictures be required? And by the way, there are cars made and sold with features that restrict their speed. Look it up.
Your argument that laws don't matter, that criminals will always break the law and get guns, is simply foolish. REALLY, criminals break the law, who knew? THAT'S WHY THEY'RE CALLED CRIMINALS! By that reasoning, we may as well eliminate laws which govern arson, grand larceny, rape, child molestation, fraud, or any other crime you can think of, because criminals will always find a way to commit those crimes. I mean, why bother right?
Yeah, I was a shooter, a competitive shooter when I was in the Marine Corps. I know how fast you can change a magazine and I know I can't get off 100 rounds in less than two minutes with an M-16 unless I'm using the 100 round double drum mag. Using a 20 or 30 round mag, it's just not possible to go through four or five changes, chamber rounds and get off 100 shots in two minutes I also know that how fast you empty a magazine is not what counts. What counts is hitting what you aim at and if you can't do it with ten rounds, why bother? Find something else to do because you suck at being a rifleman.
As for being able to do what you want, there are people who want to smoke marijuana, but can't. I would like to bring a case of wine and a few other food items not sold here home in my carry on the next time I go to Italy, but I can't. I would also like to walk onto the floor of the senate and tell some of those clowns what I think of them, but I can't. The government prevents me from doing any of those. Oh, and one last thing on this subject: What part of Alex Jones' gluteous maximus did you pull that toothpaste approval conspiracy thing from?
But you know what Dennis, it's useless to pursue this conversation any further. I'm not going to change your mind, you're not going to change mine (because I'm unreasonable right?), so I'm done. Besides, your side has already won. You don't have to worry about somebody passing laws saying you can't buy a Ma Duece, Uzi, flamethrower, M79 or an M1 Abrams. Once Sandy Hook happened and nothing was done. Once it became perfectly OK as far as the NRA, the firearms industry and the feckless swine in Congress and people like you were concerned, to kill innocent babies the fight was over and your side won. So go ahead, buy what you want, shoot off thousands of rounds, blow each other away, I simply don't care. But don't even think of doing it within 1,000 yards of where my family is.
Let me see if I understand this correctly: We've ... (
