I made a mistake. It's the Canon Pixma G1220 (not G1200) model I bought for Adorama for $149.

Thank you for asking me!

Happy New Year!

Which model Canon and an approximate price? Thank you.

I got the C anon Pixma G 1220 single function ink jet printer, it only does printing only, no fax; no scan; no copy, no wireless, can't connect to any cell phone. I don't think most people will like it, for me it is wonderful that finally I found a printer that will do what I need and don't do I really don't want, it is a simple printer that won't need to connect to the internet for operation that constantly buss me every time I turn the printer on. It tells me create an account or download their app.. etc.... that's annoying overtime!

By the way I do have a Canon scanner to do scanning.

That's why ink tank printers are becoming popular. After they become the printer of choice, we'll see the price of ink skyrocket. I'm close to 5,000 pages on the original ink, and the tanks are 3/4 full. A full supply cost me $65. Of course, the printer cost almost $300, as opposed to $49, but I still prefer using the tank printer.

I have a new Canon printer with ink tanks instead of ink cartages. I gave up my HP printer that uses ink cartages they won't last and replacement price are getting higher. The print head in my Canon printer can be cleaned easily. By the way, the ink cartages in my old PH printer are part of the print head too, you don't clean them but change them. that's why it costs more than ink tank.

We have a bedroom light switch that is just a bit too far from the door. I've often thought about moving it, but the mess and sheetrock and painting aren't worth the trouble.

Just simply extend it with surface metal wire-mold to where ever you want! That's legal in NY.

After fifty-nine years, the three-way light switch in the dining room is getting iffy. Getting one from Amazon would take too long, so I looked at what Lowe's has to offer. Eaton - $2.52 or $5.46 "For heavy-duty use areas." I wonder how many people decide to save money on a switch that transfers 110 volts within their wall. It would be like saving money on a parachute or a fire extinguisher. I never try to save money on things that could cause my death.

I emptied the dining room hutch, which was loaded with all sorts of stuff I don't need. Now that it's empty, I can slide it out from the wall and get access to that switch. As it is now, there is almost enough room to remove the switch.

Trivia question: Why do light switches snap when you turn them on and off, instead of moving smoothly?

"Light switch snap" is to avoid arcing between two point when they are forced to separated under load condition! it will burn out both contact point especially under high voltage.

The current LED flashlights are much brighter than the old halogen Maglites. Technology moves on. But you could use a Maglite to knock an intruder over the head with good effect.

I have replaced the bulb of my reliable two cell Maglite with a single replacement LED bulb, it's much brighter than the original bulb. Like you said, it's a solid tool to defend myself!

A good photographer doesn't need a mirrorless camera! A mirrorless camera won't make you a good photographer!

Very lovely! That's family tradition like father and son/daughter! Hope they don't turn the other way when they have their hands on the cell-phone!

What advantages, if any, does mirrorless have over mirror? If you were going to upgrade would you go to mirrorless.

I started taking photography as my hobby since early 70s with a TLR and a range finder camera, and I followed up with a pair of Nikon SLRs, Now I am using a couple of Nikon DSLRs, and a Micro 4/3 mirrorless which I just carry with me whenever I go out for snap shot but not for serious shooting. I won't up date to any of the current mirror less unless when I really want to, I will get myself a Leica M (Mirror less)series camera that was my dream for my life!

Every time I use Garmin Express to update a GPS, I have problems. Today, it took a long time for it to recognize the device, even though it was connected. I finally had to add it again, so now I have GPS 1 and GPS 2. After almost an hour, it told me to insert an SD card. Despite trying half a dozen different cards - all good ones - it still cannot find the card. The computer can access the card, but Garmin Express can't see that it's in the GPS. When I click on the GPS through the computer, the card shows up.

I restarted the program, and it's still "Preparing Device for Map Update."

I'm just curious about other people having trouble with Express.

My Garmin doesn't need to up date through Garmin Express from my computer, I just use my home WiFi network to update directly with the Garmin GPS itself and done fast! My other older Garmin does need the to update through the Garmin Express!

The idea is not new but putting a Leica lens on Xiaomi 12S Ultra at $41K is something for marketing pundits and us UHHoggers to think out loud. Or they may just be testing the waters. Your thoughts. It’s on youtube.

Why bother? If you can afford a Leica lens, why don't you get a real Leica camera body to world with!

All the smart-phone stuff just drives everybody insane!

Yesterday my well used, almost nine-year old lens wouldn't focus properly. It was constantly search, and the barrel of the lens emitted a loud clanking sound as it searched, focusing in and out without locking onto the stationary subject. Today it hadn't "fixed itself". Anyone have a similar problem, and how was it corrected.
My thanks - Strix.

It's expected to happen, the combination of the lens and the 1,4 TC makes the max aperture to F8 at the long end says 560mm, it's difficult for the camera to auto focus and causes it to 'hunt'. General speaking, F4 is the limited aperture that can be used with any TC adapter.

Thank you! I am not interested in politic but I am an old timer and happy what I have. I will never buy a mirrorless camera except it's a Leica. I will when my mind is made up!
