The camera is still under warranty (till the end of Nov.) I have a problem with the flash not flashing when requested. Rarely use a flash so I didn't notice until this fall that it wasn't working properly. So, my question is , where should I send it? On reading some of the HOGG comments, it seems Sony does not have a great repair rep. Do any of the major stores (B&H, Adorama, Keh, do these type of repairs under warranty?
The camera was not dropped or damaged; the flash just quit. It did work3-4 times and then just died.
Any help would be greatly appreciated; I have never had a problem like this so I'm not quite sure where to go.

I'm not sure how Sony repair has gotten such a bad reputation, I had a problem of my own making several years ago with my Sony A77. In addition to the problem being caused by my negligence, the camera is grey-market. I told Sony repair all of this up front, and got a verbal estimate on the phone. I sent the camera in and a few days after they received it I received notification that the repair was complete and that it would be shipped out the next day! I inquired about the cost, and was told that there was No Charge! I then inquired about what had been done, and was told that they had fixed the problem that I had created and had done a general check to make sure that everything was properly functioning! This was done at the Sony repair facility in Texas. Needless to say, I have nothing bad to say about Sony repair!

Doesn't the constant flashing make it hard to work?:)

New glasses needed? Or perhaps paying closer attention? I know that I've made the same type of mistake by anticipating what I thought was coming!

I'm not sure what that has to do with the OP's post. And since you have obviously not been paying attention, President Trump has been consistently keeping his campaign promises.

"So please, once and for all: can we retire the tired fallacy that government services and socialism are one and the same? They’re not." was part of EyeSawYou post above. Of course, he is never wrong; just ask him.

Yes, they are not the same by classical all/nothing definition. Words, names, and definitions change with the times. If the US population consider that "government services" such as Health Care, Social Security are mild acceptable forms of socialism then so be it; the definition has changed. Humm, can we define the big tax cuts for the very rich a form of socialism for the rich??

Socialism is a flavoring in our social system; too much and the soup is spoiled, to little and there is no nutrition for the people born poor or met with an unfortunate happening.

The confusion.. all or nothing thinking... applies to immigration also ... closed borders or open borders... the close border people point fingers saying the Democrats want to just let anyone into the USA free flow. That is not the case, it is a fallacious argument made to confuse the masses incapable of clear thinking. The Trump supporters who think Democrats and Republicans are two football teams and do not understand that their choice has dire consequences and the rules for one side, Republicans, suppresses the choice of the people. Republicans are never wrong... so they think and convince the people.

I am an independent voter and have voted Republican about 1/3 of the time. Presently the Republican party is an extreme radical element. Argentina lost its Democracy when the Far Right Church [Catholic] and the military took over the government. Argentine's Dirty war. Tragic period.

Social Security is NOT socialism - it's a fund that (was confiscated from me)I paid into based on my earnings. To try to lump it into socialism is disingenuous. Also, to try to lump the Interstate highway system into socialism is also a flawed argument - infrastructure is one of our government's constitutional duties, along with public safety.

I started Photography in highschool just to get an easy fine arts credit but turned out to really enjoy it. I'd like to share what were my first shots from a year or so ago.

The 'eye' is as important as technical expertise in photography, and you have that part nailed! Keep shooting and never stop learning! I started in photography while in High School more than 55 years ago, and it has provided me with income and enjoyment to this day!

What you say is unrelated. What does a black persons chance of being killed by a black person have to do with there chance of being killed by a cop. One is being done in our name. The other is not.

Not unrelated - CK has made an unsupportable statement regarding the risk that black males of any age have of being shot by law enforcement. His statement is NOT supported by statistical evidence. When you compare statistics, my point is valid and germane to the discussion.

There are more racist police than there should be, and before you refute that, there shouldn't be any.

The narrative that CK espouses is false. Statistically, a black person of any age is more likely to be killed by another black person (civilian) than by a police officer of any ethnic background! That doesn't make the victims of police shootings any less injured or dead, but it should inject some sanity into the discussion. For CK to imply that law enforcement has an 'open season' on black citizens is disingenuous at best, and flat-out false at worst.

Actually. that isn't the actual wording-the actual quote is" the LOVE of money is the root of all evil". Kind of makes a difference in the meaning.

Lots of speculation regarding who wrote the anonymous Op-Ed but there's a really strong case for looking at Pence.
Pence may be a miserable sob but he prides himself on being an honest Christian and a true conservative. Guess only time will tell but one thing's for sure. It wasn't a Democrat.

And just where do you get the idea that VP Pence is a "miserable sob"? He, according to most reports, is a man of principle, who makes a practice of 'avoiding even the appearance of evil'? Methinks that the 'left' has
lost their collective mind!

You need to print that one up BIG and hang it where people will see it..I IIke images like this and try to get that result often when conditions permit. It has a very 'graphic art' feel to it!

I take issue with the first part of your claim - the "I was thinking" part. In order to think, one has to have the cognitive ability and capacity to think. Based on the posts I've seen by you so far, I see no evidence that you possess such ability or capacity.

It just showed petty small mindedness. Not a good legacy for one who could "get along with those he disagreed with"!

Probly not to you but most Americans an all service men apperantly did.

So missed the part America didn't need be made great again. It has always been great. Did see Ivanka there an hubby.

You need to read up on 'flag etiquette' then you might understand the process. And I believe that the flag was lowered again after having been raised to full height. Also, each day that the flag is flown at half mast, it is first raised to full height, then lowered to half mast for the remainder of the day. As an aside, it seems a bit petty for Sen.McCain to specifically exclude the sitting President, as well as his former running mate, from his funeral, especially when pundits are extolling his ability to get along with those with whom he had disagreements!

Looks more like sour grapes for those fools who are never able to accumulate enough money to buy the finer things in life, and are embarassed that others are not the idiots they themselves are.

I'm not sure that 'sour grapes' is an accurate description of my attitude. I've been involved in photography for a very long time (60+ years ), and have developed an definition of what I consider 'art' to be. In some cases it's just my opinion, and in other cases it's based on artistic standards I once had an art teacher respond to an off the cuff remark referencing Thomas Kincaid say "what a hack"! I sensed that she was jealous of his success, in that she was stuck teaching art at a junior college in Washington, while he was making millions with his very realistic art.! There are always rules, and often those rules can be broken with some successful result, but sometimes breaking the rules for the sake of breaking the rules results in disaster. To paraphrase a famous person "I don't know what art is, but I'll know it when I see it "!

Well, after reading through all of the comments, l guess that it's a matter of "whatever floats your boat". In my opinion this artist falls in the same catagory as Andy 'Soup Can' Warhol, and Jackson 'Pour House paint On The Floor' Pollock They convinced that masses that they knew more about art than everyone else. Warhol was at best a skilled graphic artist, and traded more on his quirky personality. I'm not real sure what the attraction to Pollock was all about. And yes, a fool and their money are soon parted.
