I suppose this is true. Look... I posted again. Agggah! Merry Christmas to you SS.
And to you as well, Naphlyr. May the New Year bring you many blessings.
Please let this thread die a natural death. Someone, everyone, just stop posting.

I'm not looking to turn this into a canon vs nikon thread...but trust me...canon is easier to understand. their menu lay out is cleary done. plain english. etc, I can't even find items on the nikon system. Wanna by an un-used D750?
This might be the answer. If you were happier with the Canon then sell the Nikon and move on.

I did not know about these moths until 4 years ago. I was looking for bee shots on the lilacs when I noticed these. I was using a 70x200 lens with a closeup lens at that time and didn't get very good shots. Size wise they are between hummingbirds and bumblebees. Colorwise they can be mistaken for bumblebees. Check all your lilac bushes when they are in bloom as they love them.
Thank you Don. I will keep an eye out for them in the spring and summer... and plant a lilac bush too.
Great images. That tattoo looks like a monkey face. Nature can be so amazing.
All very lovely. I really like the hummingbird moth. I haven't seen one here.
The first dragonfly is beautiful. Looks like it almost froze and you caught it thawing out.

I liked them both. The second one is as good as the first. I love the mystery on the right. Don't downplay the second one. We all know the horse had two sides but leaving it dark made it so very special.
Thank you Runakid, I couldn't agree more.
I really like these. They're beautiful and show the wonderful lines of a horses head. The second one should be huge and on a living room wall. It's just striking!
Both are fascinating! Love that first one, with its pinkness and vague shadows... and its name is so cool.

These were the first words that came out of my mouth too... Because they can.
I disagree with Mr. Jones in the second link. I think that photography can be art. I think he has some issues of his own. But... as for why people will pay so much for a photo like this?... They have the money, they want something and they buy it. Maybe they want to be able to say, "I paid$6.5m for this. Maybe they really did love it... that much. Who knows.
Thanks, all of you, for the nice comments. I love this little boy. He has a wonderfully photographic face... His face shows his emotions constantly, like a slide show. He is my first grandson and at 9 1/2 years (now) he is growing into a very interesting person. He is slightly Autistic, but his little boy soul, inside, remains strong and engaged.
