I love it when people post those "what bird is this" or "what plant is this" and don't mention what part of the world the photo was taken - and when. Birds migrate. There are many different birds in different parts of the US, AND - we have members in Europe, South America, and the Middle East - and then we have Sylvia, who could be ANYWHERE on the planet!

There is a nicer way to express your thoughts.

Get a cooler with wheels that you can sit on. Put your gear inside of it. You could customize the inside with foam or whatever.

Tokina 100mm 2.8 is as good as the Nikon 105mm 2.8 and is cheaper and lighter. I have both and enjoy each of them.

Get a used Nikon D7000 and a used or new 1.8 50mm lens. Should easily fit your budget.

I shoot in manual 95% of the time. It gives me the look I want and it is not hard to figure out what settings to use to get the look you want. Sometimes I miss a photo because the subject or clouds move and the lighting changes, but that is part of the game.

select wand tool in PS. Go up to option bar on the towards the middle on the right. Hit select and mask. Play with the settings when the new screen pops up. I just cut out about 50 pics of cats using this for work and it was a life savor.

Thanks for your input!

To save the money I would buy the Tokina. I don't care about resale. FYI...I have a friend who doesn't like the Tokina because of the way you go from auto to manual focus, but I actually prefer it.
