Great Photo!
Who woulda' thunk?
Certainly generated a lot of interest.
A good photo does that ...

Thanks for the offer. I don't think that I can make it this weekend (sob). Will contact you via PM in the future when I can join up. I am located in both Sparks & Incline Village. Would love to do a shoot with someone more experienced.

I am East of Sacramento, and I spend a good deal of time in the Sierra. You are welcome to meet up with me some time if you have time to do that. I am heading for Smith, Nevada this weekend, which is a bit South of you by 2 hours I think. But sometime in the future, just let know if that sounds interesting to you.

I shoot along the Eastern Sierra in the Fall to capture the colors as well. That might be a good time. It is much cooler then. Hwy 395 has plenty of great locations right off the Hwy.

Thanks for the encouragement. My biggest problem is "seeing" a good photo. I don't trust my own judgement. Usually too critical. But I do enjoy the entire process.

Don't do that. Every shot someone takes of the falls is their own interpretation and souvenir. If you were selling them, it would be different if it didn't make money.

I take images because I enjoy looking back over them at a later date. I give most of my work away. Nobody wants to buy my images. There are too many photographers and just plain folks with good cameras that can do the same thing.

Most of the images people pay for are from photographers that have a good marketing plan. Someone in a magazine says they are great, so everyone wants to buy their shot. Kind of a silly game, but it is just the way it goes.

It is said that 50 years ago today's technology would be indistinguishable from magic.
Well, it still looks like magic!

Looking to be in the Jackson Hole area in mid July this summer. Can anyone give a recommendation on a tour company and if dawn or dusk is better for photos?
Thanks!

If you want some good sunset shots, and you have the time (and family approval  ) go to Grand Targhee Resort out of Alta WY. About 2 hr drive from Colter Bay Village. Take the ski lift to the top of the ridge. Magnificent panorama of the entire west face of the Tetons across the Bridger Wilderness. I dont know what time the lift closes but there is a gravel service road that is easy walking -- down.

The price starts at $349. That's a bit of a stretch for most people. My limit has always been about $34.90. So far, so good.

You can get a Rolex on the street in Beijing for $5. I wonder what they will be charging for an Apple watch?

I love telling jokes to a Brit. They laugh 3 times

1. When you tell the joke

2. When you explain it to them

3. Two days later when they understand it.

PS: My college roommate was a Brit.

Lovely shots, Ted. We were in/on Malta for a day last October but never saw the church. Facinating city/island. It needs a lot more time to explore. So much history ...

A few months ago I had a Panasonic FZ200 which was stolen in San Francisco (the city that keeps on taking). Insured. I then got a bad case of sensor envy and ended up with a Canon 70D, Which I love and thoroughly enjoy. If the FZ 1000 had been available then, I would certainly have opted for it. All my photog is for my own edification and impressing family. I don't do any commercial work. That would be a different decision. Depending on what your goals are, I don't think you can go wrong with the FZ K
