We went to a large retailer yesterday so my husband could look for a new laptop. Samsung isn't making them any more and we couldn't find much in the way of laptops at all. The sales person said they were not as many available as there were a year ago.

Samsun is still advertising llaptop computers. http://www.samsung.com/us/business/computing/laptops/

Computer sales are down, but this is not because computer use is down, it is because computers are a mature product. People replace them when they fail not when a new model comes out. This is also true of smart phones and tablets to a lesser extent, sales are still increasing, but not as fast.

Don't believe everything a salesman tells you. When I was in Best Buy the other day there were plenty of computers, all types.

I've heard many people say that it probably wasn't treason but only because it's the senate not because he was in the war. That has nothing to do with whether or not he's treasonous.

I agree that it is probably not treason, but to undercut the President in such a manner for personal political gain is despicable.

I'm so glad you bring up over 250 year old history to make an assinine point.

Try to keep it somewhat current.

I believe it was George Santayana who said, " Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." But then perhaps you don't remember Santayana, the quote is more than six months old. And he wasn't a musician.

One may not agree with the Politics...and that's Freedom..

But to call Tom Cotton Treasonous is a Hell of a Stretch for a Guy who has served two tours in Iraq....While the rest of us have pissed around with Camera's, iPhones and sipped coffee at Starbucks..

Bendick Arnold was a war hero too.

To which childish name calling do you refer? Calling Democrats "Donkeycrats" or calling Republicans "Repukes"?

I fear you are correct. I wonder if their concentration on this site translates into there being less on other sites or if since most are retired, some are undoubtedly in homes for the bewildered, they have enough time to show up on multiple sites.

Since "his deal" has never been made public, how would you know this? And only a treaty needs approval, an executive action does not and it looks like Iran knows more about our constitution than the republican senators do.

certainly more than the buffoons you have been trying to argue with, but then I expect you have noticed that. There is really no point in trying to debate with them, they don't know when they have lost.

You are correct - I should refrain from using "dunderheads" and "donkeycrats" in the same sentence. It is insulting to dunderheads.

High wit, if you are less than seven. I had hoped that this site might have grown up, but I see it hasn't. See if your mommy will give you a Hoho.

Neither of you dunderheads even know what news is - just this morning, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan are asking the U.S. to help them go after ISIS.

Cotton's memo isn't undermining anything except getting under you donkeycrats' skins!

All leading enlightened Democracies. It isn't necessary to resort to childish name calling in your case as your great knowledge and wisdom is obvious.

Now I wish I had kept him as a "pet" at least until I could identify him! I left him in a sheltered spot with some seeds. He has made it through this winter so far, so obviously he has survival skills. I can't imagine that he is an escaped exotic - we have tons of cute natural mice here in the woods of Maine, and few folks who would pay money for an exotic mouse.... And we have shrews and voles and lemmings and fishers and porcupines and beavers, but I haven't seen one of these before.

Shrews look like rodents, but are not. I thought shrews where completely carnivorous, but yours seems to be eating grain so I must be wrong. Perhaps you can still get some pictures. Good luck.

You are right, Iran is not Germany in the 1930s. Actually Iran is worse than Germany in the 1930s. A few nuclear weapons can make up for and overcome the largest ground army and industrial base. And a very, very different mind set between the German of the 1930s and the Iranian of today. The Iranians will gladly become martyrs and destroy the civilized world in the process. The German never even thought about doing that. You seem to indicate that doing nothing is the answer. That is daft.

No, I advocate negotiation as Obama is doing. As for the Iranians being worse than Hitler's Germany, Hitler set out to conquer the World and in the process to eliminate "undesirable" peoples. As for the Iranian's bombs they are not going to use them unless the Israelis strike first. They know that to use them would be suicide and the Iranians are not suicidal.

I have a new computer which has 8GB Ram. I am having an issue. When I click on anything ...ie: Google, email, open a site, etc. it opens fine, but everything seems to "lock up" for several seconds...5 - 8 generally. So...if I go into a new page...it locks up again....Now.. this doesn't happen "every time" But often enough to be annoying as heck! Also when I am searching my files to pull up a picture to edit, it sometimes takes several seconds to open my drive up. Any thoughts?

I have no idea what the problem is, there are many possibilities. However, I would take it back to where you purchased it and have them repair it. This isn't normal.

My backup is my computer. I was told that the computer is more reliable than the external HD. Have you heard this also?

Definitely not. All of my data drives are external, the only internal drives in my computers are the system drives which are SSDs. Each of the system drives has three logical drives, one for the operating system, one for programs/software, and one for the system reset files. The data drives and back up drives are internal drives in Starteck enclosures. These enclosures have 120 mm exhaust fans and are large enough for good air circulation. Actually the data drives are now in a Synology NAS device configured as RAID 1. Every thing runs very cool, as it should. Some of the early external drives, notable La Cie, had insufficient air circulation and tended to fail early
