I find it interesting that any time there isn’t enough gas to go around, oil companies make record profits. Wouldn’t you think that if lack of supply is truly the problem, their income would be down because they have less product to sell?
This has happened repeatedly over the years. They claim that they need those profits to go find more oil, but invariably the next shortage is just around the corner. Considering they can make more money selling less product, surely they wouldn’t be manufacturing the shortage would they?

Some of the energy companies have made as much as £4.5 Billion and say they are embarrassed as they do not know what to do with it?? The ir have been demands for a windfall tax to be applied and that has now been taken up by the government due to the pressure they have received from consumers and political parties.
