Thid series is rather meant to show the steps I take to add color to a 40 years olde B&W image. Not happy with how it was done but WTF. Scroll up and down to see the inter-image changes.

Your procedure is perfect, Jim. Other than being the photographer, you have another skill...That of applying color just right. Good work.

Yep. Don’t worry about chips and salsa. Wait ‘till your charged for a glass of water and a napkin. Be careful if you used the bathroom you will be charged a cleaning fee and need to pay for toilet paper.

I would not doubt what you say...A friend of mine was charged for the ice in his drink!!!!!

And some restaurants CHARGE for bread!

I went to one Mexican restaurant, normally they put a basket of chips and salsa on the table, at the end of my meal, I got the check and I saw they charged for the chips and dip. I did not Pay for them. I told the waitress that I "did not order the chips and dip!" and I refused to pay for something I didn't order. They deducted the charge. Restaurants, I am finding with try to get away with anything they can.

Why would I have to pay a separate service charge or separate shipping???
It's one order and just put them in the same box to ship!

That would be toooooo easy!

Another image from my early photography days when I was just learning and only really had this nice lady to pose for me if I asked really nicely. So we have seen the model before, but don't think this particular image. Nothing amazing about it (in fact a few flaws), circa 1996-98 as I was self teaching myself lighting and developing B&W film/prints. But it is Film Friday and she is a very pretty lady, so why not.

the pose is very good, but, the image is great! The lighting is what makes this image stand out. For a photographer who was "just learning," you did a fantastic job.

Same girl, same bed at No. 36, just a bit more cloths and a bit better focus.

Why would anyone want to look at the upper left, or anywhere else other than that beautiful young woman on the bed?

When I lived on Long Island, I would often go into Manhattan. A popular restaurant chain was Tad's Steaks. For $1.99, you got a steak, a baked potato and maybe a salad.

Hey jerry, what year was that? 1890? LOL...

Here is the bottom line. In 2017, our broker informed us, that with the taxes and cost of living in California going up the way it had been, we would, in 3 years, (2020) be totally BROKE. So we moved.

I get two hot dogs and a bag of chips and two sodas For under $10 at Circle K

I go to Irving Gas to fill up. (it's one of the cheapest.) But I went into the convenience store there, and I looked at some quick sandwiches... A Tuna Salad sandwich which it appeared to be two pieces of white bread with a little shmeer of Tuna Salad... was almost $6 ! and that was the sandwich ONLY, no chips, etc,! Convenience stores are NOT that cheap either.

We stopped eating hamburgers out 35 years ago. Our local super market has fresh ground chuck for $2.99 lb on Tue. No pre packaged meat, all fresh at the “old fashioned” meat counter. I cook most nights. Cooking is easy!! I sauté onions too. 😀

Mark

As with you Mark, we don't eat out very often now either. We, meaning I, LOL, do the shopping, and we buy mostly chicken, some meat, and fresh veggies as our mainstay. I do most all the cooking in the house, (when I was a kid I had to do the cooking as my mom was not able to at times because of Bursitis.) I love to cook, hate to clean up, but love to cook. I mostly use a wok, and the air fryer. That way, I don't use a lot of oil, which is really not good to use a lot.

I agree with everyone, eating out these days really sucks! For my wife and I at a local Greek restaurant here is what we paid: 1 small Greek Salad, $16. 1 Meatballs, (there were 6 1" meatballs in a sauce) $18. 1 Baklava, $12. 1 gelato, $12. 1 double espresso, $6. the total plus tax came to $69.44 + tip...About $12. So, now we get $81.44. You are right, in todays inflated economy, very few can afford to eat out! I know I cannot.
