More great winter lighthouse shots. Thanks for posting.
What did you do to protect your camera from the cold?

Forgive me please if this is a duplicate....The place is Reinstein Woods...a nature preserve...not far from where I live. Shot with a Canon 60D...Christmas gift and a Tamron 18-270 lens with circular polarizer

Thanks again for ALL the compliments!

Bill - Thanks again for posting. Reinstein Woods is a neat place. There's a bunch a great photo spots in WNY. I'm a bit nearer to NF which is great in the winter as well as summer.
Good Luck with your new camera.

Yes we do have winter in Buffalo....and snow. I went for a walk, camera and tripod in hand, to one of the local parks and took pictures of what winter had to offer. Mind you it's not the mountains or such but it was a nice walk in a very pleasant place.
I did take a number of bracketed photos so that I could create an HDR photo. This was my first attempt at this process. Please be free to criticize. Thank you in advance!

Nice shots Bill. What park? Thanks for posting...........
Careful about what you post - people will think it snows all year round here. Wait, maybe they already do..............
Attaching a photo that worked last year - kept the "let it snow" sign on the inside of the house and we had a mild winter. I guess it only worked for one year.
Let's see some more shots when you get a chance.

PS Are you going into Manhattan this evening to photograph the festivities?

No, Too Crowded

Reminds me of the old Yogi line, "Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded"
Great shots of The City. Thanks.

Great shots "action". You even got the engineers in the photos. It's a great adventure on the A & A. I remember
taking my kids on it many, many years ago. Maybe have the grand kids go on it next summer. Thanks for posting.

Sarge,
Nice shots. What's wrong with 81 - I'd take it right about now. Picture #2 looks like the cruise ship I bought a ticket for. It wasn't the same as the picture the travel agent showed me! :)
Enjoy yourself. Have fun. Keep smiling!

Nice - very colorful

like the ADK chairs except getting up from them is a problem sometimes and yes, a pad makes them a lot more comfortable.

Here's some more color............

Funny you should post golf courses. My new home is situated at the 16th / 17th tee of the Whiskey Creek Country Club Golf Course in Ft Myers, Florida. And I don't play golf.

Sarge - I heard there's a bunch of "players" on that course that "Don't Play Golf"! Make sure you have your steel pot on if you decide to sit out in your yard!

Florida has great gun laws ( NONE ) But golfers are too slow so might switch to a cross-bow.

If you're on target, does that mean there would be a "hole in one"?

Nice shots. Hope you enjoyed Alaska as much as we did.
We'd go back in an instant.
Took the same RR trip out of Skagway. Hope you don't mind, but I'm posting two photos showing the NWMP hut in July (sorry about the quality of these pics - "camera" was having a bad day).

Nice photos. Thanks for posting.
Whenever I see something like this, I can't help but try and think about all the individuals who worked on the vessel or used it or had some link to its operation.

I had a D80 for about 4 years and loved it. Earlier this year (while on vacation) the camera just stopped functioning and would not take a picture. Took it to my camera store and they said it was a shutter problem and would cost about $350 to repair. I upgraded to a D7000. Someday I'd like to repair the D80 and have as a backup or just a 2nd camera.
My brother had a D80 - same problem.
I know this is not a solution to your problem but there's a possibility there's a couple inherent problems with the D80 that eventually surface. Good luck with your D80.
