Totally irrelevant to the topic.
If you want to talk about your irrelevant Nikon start your own thread.

I am so sorry for you!

I thought I was responding to the OP question about flash.

I am very sorry that you are offended by my post.

I really hope your day is wonderful.

God Bless you!

And..."May the OP forgive my response"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again,
Boone.

For those of you with a Canon R-series camera, what flash (if any) are you using with it, and how do you like it?

I use Nikon equipment, but I use Yongnuo 560III (Manual Flash) and the 560TX trigger. I have 12 flash units, all 560III. I have that many due to a shoot I had several years back where I had to light up many windows on two different floors of a Hunting Lodge. It required that many lights as the Lodge was huge.

I have used these units since then. I have tried many tests on these units, and find them to be damn near bullet proof. (You can also fully control these flashes from the TX560...and use up to 18 flashes at one time.

I was outside when I did the shoot of the lodge, and about 150 feet from most of my flash units that were inside of the lodge. I did not have any problems. I know from testing these units afterwards, and the range of 300' is doable.

I shoot mostly portraits, and I love them. I am sure that Godox Units are also good, but I have never used them.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Boone.

Thank you for the nice words!

But I don't know why anyone would have trouble with the link I posted. (Or the sign in comment) I just now clicked on the link I posted and it did have a commercial that came up first, but then the Video played right after that. I do hope you get to see this...as a photographer would truly love the footage in this film.

Thanks again,

Came across this shot of my horses while editing folders. These horses used to crack me up...they would play all the time. I love the eyes and face Rudy is making as Major is at his backside!

Please tell me what you would caption this one?

Me...my first thought was "Honest, it wasn't me!"

Boone...let's hope your Wasabis hang in past a year. After that year mark, mine (2) no longer took a full charge and were only good for a short time in the field. Into the trash they went.

I will see what the next year brings?

Scratching my head as to why you would put a dead battery in the camera body instead of a charged battery.

To answer your head scratcher : I just didn't have another battery with me at the time, so I simply put the dead one some place it was safe for the moment. (I was shooting for myself, not a client. If shooting for the latter, I am sure I would have "Extra Batteries" with me.)

Thanks,
Boone.

3rd party grips work just fine...batteries, not so much. I found I preferred using the battery in grip first so I didnt have to remove the grip to charge...but didnt often use a remote trigger. Now that I shoot Sony, moot point.

I value everyones tips so I learn to think about things differently.

I agree with all. I use that rotation with my my batteries as well, but for that moment I did the opposite with the batteries just to prove my hypothesis at the time.

As far as 3rd party batteries are concerned: I have heard so many shooters on this forum that use "Wasabi Batteries"
with great results, so I bought one. I tested it in many ways (A Lot that I won't bore you with) and found it to be as good as my Nikon Original. I now own 5 of these for my D750, and highly recommend them highly. JMO.

Just a small tip that I found out by accident!

I shoot Nikon gear, "But I Think" this may be true of other 3rd party battery grips as well...!

I prefer my 3rd party battery grip + my wireless remote to the Nikon battery grip. Simply because of the price of the Nikon grip and how often I use these items.

I have used the "Meke Grip with the Meke Remote"... for many years with no complaints.

Yesterday I was using the Meke grip and its remote, and the remote stopped working? Well I had my camera set to "Use the battery in the grip first...and then the battery in the camera second. After a short time...I figured that the remote stopped working because the battery "In The Grip was dead". I changed the batteries around so that the "Camera Battery" was now in the grip, and the dead battery was in the camera. This worked...and now the remote worked as before.

This was no great discovery, however, later on I got to thinking about it. I went into my cameras menu (Custom Settings Menu / a12 on my D750) and changed the battery order to use the "In Camera battery first...and then the battery in the grip second".

Now the remote will work without interruption.

I know this is no earth shaking discovery, but hey..."It's January.....and what else is there to do"???

Oh well...at 70 yrs. young...all new (To Me) discoveries are neat. (Neat is a 1960's word for you younger kids. )

So my good friends...that is my great find so far this year...and I'm sure there will be more as well!

Happy New Year To All!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Boone.

But then as I looked in the lens, I realized it was just the way it grew!

Shot with one of my favorite lens Nikor f/3.5 - f/5.6 28 - 300 No filters.

This may be my last ride of the year on my Aventon Aventure (ebike) out in the country from my home.

I really liked the way it grew. All PP was done in ON1 Raw.

Thanks for the "Eye Ball"!!!!!!!

And a "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL"!!!

Thanks,
Boone.
