My 2017 colt Oregon Hot Flash was turned out with mom in very tall grass. He loved the feel of it tickling his belly as he ran through it.
Mom was busy eating so ignored him...

Thanks all for looking and commenting on this series of shots. It felt good to get back out there and do what I love after facing cancer and having the discs in my neck replaced. Also fighting fibromyalgia and it makes it hard to hold the camera and lens. But I'm not giving up.

Every image was very well taken. What size lens did you use for these shots

This was a Sigma 70-200 2.8 mounted on a D7100.

I have a strange bird that has been living at my house for about a month. S/He looks like something that might better live in a pond or lake instead of in a desert location. Does anyone know what s/he is? THANKS!

I believe Killdeer also..if it had a white breast..the will lead you away from nest that they have on the ground. Very protective of the nest.

YES! I use Sony A77 and RX100 lll. Love them both. I've also had both Canon and Nikon gear in the past and sold them.

My farrier was given that camera and he absolutely love it. I have been very impressed with the quality of shots he is getting and after being a Nikon person forever I'm seriously thinking of getting one.

Random pictures of my horses. I have loved horses since childhood. Can't see my life without one now.

I totally agree. Pretty hard to be without them after a livetime if sharing your life with them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful
horse family.

Beautiful shots. I wonder where she 'learned' to stand like that? I'm sure she wasn't mimicking a giraffe.

All foals do that..their necks are a lot shorter than their legs.

I took these shots early last season (she is now a yearling). She has since been sold, & her new owner told me only yesterday that she still occasionally stands like a giraffe when grazing, lol. Downloading is recommended.

Beautiful filly..very nice shot. I love the name and may have to name one of mine the same.

Ok here it goes....I am diving in. Here are a couple of pics from my Nikon D5300, remember it's my first dslr and just got it in Nov...so still learning. All comments welcome.
1. Taken while out snowmobiling
2. Taken while on a hike in Glacier National Park - Fish Creek Drainage at Lake McDonald
3. My driveway on a cold winter night

I am also learning Lightroom - so any post editing suggestions welcome!

Very nice and your shots don't look like they are coming from a "newbie" keep posting.

I have had my Canon Rebel T6s for a year now. I went overboard buying lenses because I didn't know what I wanted or needed. I have a Tamron 70-300 that I thought would come in handy for some longer shots. My husband and I were out the other day (he has wonderful eyes for spotting wildlife). We came across an eagle in a tree, but I didn't have my camera so we went home and got it. The eagle was gone from the spot we saw it, but lo and behold we found it in another spot. My husband pulled over and I just started shooting. I'm teaching myself BBF (back button focus). The only thing I forgot to do is when my husband made noise so I could catch a shot of the eagle in flight, I forgot to change my camera to "shutter priority." All in all, I am very pleased with my shots. There was no post editing done on these except cropping. Any opinions are welcome to this newbie.

I have great admiration for these magnificent creatures. The energy and enthusiasm they bring to their work is always a pleasure to watch. I just received my schedule of sheep dog trials and demonstrations in my area and I will attend as many as possible. A web search may lead you to some local events....you won't regret the effort. I like the #4 because all four animals are in perfect lockstep!
Regards. Phil

Have done many dog trials in the past..these animals are amazing as well as the handlers..thanks for bringing back memories.
