I shoot with an Olympus PEN with the Olympus housing. It works great and it is light weight. I went to this set up from a heavy DSLR in an Ikelite housing (it worked great, but too heavy.
Currently, Olympus is having a sale on one of their PEN cameras and the housing...check it out.
Cases are made camera specific. There is a 'waterproof' pouch that you can probably find on the B and H web site. I have never seen anyone use it, but it has been on the market for years, so it must work.
Remember this, shooting underwater is way different than on land...most of your images will have a blue cast. If you do not use Picasa, get it...it is free from Google. You can use it to correct the color.
go to the Olympus web site and you will find a camera or two that are inexpensive and designed to be taken in to the water...no deeper than 30 feet. Check them out.
Won't be too long that some jerk will fly a drone into a commercial aircraft. Alitalia, landing at JFK, dodged one just last week. I love all aspects of flying, but drones are a different animal.
I had a work permit, but had to go to New Guinea once a month anyway. What a hassle. I worked awhile for Max Ammer and for Grand Komodo liveaboards and at their resort...Raja Ampat Dive Resort. I am an instructor.
I often over stayed my visa and had to pay a fine each time...the immigration officer got to know me quite well...he would laugh every time I showed up in his dingy little office in Jaipur.
Now I just work with my husband doing dive charters. We have one going in August if you are interested. A liveaboard. We will be diving the Ampats, sail around to see the leatherback turtles and then into the Cenderwashi Bay to Naberi to see the whale sharks. We have two beds open if you are interested.
Your photos made me home sick. I have lived out in the Raja Ampats for several months and will be back again in August.. only for a month's visit this time. Thanks for the shots.
I was happy to see your photos, I too have some to post. I am totally baffled as to the where to find the name of the next person to host Hobo. I contacted the person whose name appears, after mine, on a list I found, but he said he already hosted Hobo. If you know the answer, I would appreciate the direction.
Thanks
Next year when I am at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque I will be sure not to use the port-a-potties when the balloons are up and about.
Funny, funny...
I know exactly how you feel...I put down my best friend just weeks ago and I still feel the loss.
I dive regularly in the So. Pacific so am familiar with lion fish, but I was amazed at the proliferation of the lion fish in the Caribbean. Everywhere I looked there were huge lion fish and nothing else. Great photos, thanks.
HAPPY NEW YEAR INDRAJEET. Thanks for sharing your photography with all of us...I look forward to your images everyday.
Middleburg Island, Indonesia. I am standing by an overturned P-47.
Howdy, great to have another Texan join in.
Contact Fred Smith (owner, President, CEO, Chairmem of the Board) of FedEx and let him know what happened. I feel sure if he knew about this debacle he would not be happy.
