Beautiful shots, Chuck! I see you're a Pentax user; so was I back in the film days! I'm hoping to get a digital Pentax that I can put my zoom lens on!

Thank you for the comment - Yes - I love my Pentax. My Father had a Pentax film camera with a 70-210 zoom lens that snaps right on and takes fantastic pictures - it's over 30 years old! It's not an auto focus, no motor -but the quality is outstanding. I also had a Pentax point and shoot that I absolutely wore out - took some great pics with that camera. I like the product and my K-30 is very durable with some great features. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the comment - it was driven by the sun on that day - glad I kept trying.

Both shots are quite nice, but I'm particularly drawn to the first - it's an eye appealing perspective with good color, detail, and focus. Nice job.

Thank you again for the comments - I have to admit - the first one was taken a couple days before the second. During the first shoot I had trouble with sun spots in the mist because of the time of day. I finally found the right angle and perspective with that shot - I was quite happy with it. Thanks for the kind words. I really enjoy going out and challenging myself to get a pleasing shot - so many opportunities out there!!

Nicely done, Chuck! I especially like the 2nd one with the passing barge. I've shot that bridge a few times, and shot the Cincinnati Reds post-game fireworks FROM that bridge near the Kentucky end once. Photos on my Flickr site:

Thanks for the comments and link - that is a very nice set. Cool to see the bridge from the other side... I spent one night there - would love to go back sometime. Beautiful city at night...

IIRC, this was "practice" for the Brooklyn Bridge, built by the same guy.

That is great information -thanks for taking the time to comment. The murals on the Kentucky side of the river show the bridge in its early years - a really great place to spend an evening or two!

A couple years ago I received the wrong order from one of the popular on-line photography stores. The picture I received was of downtown Cincinnati - Ever since then I have wanted to go back and shoot some pictures myself. I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity on October 15th - This is one of my favorites from that night - comments welcome - thanks for looking..

Pentax K-30
30 Second exposure - ISO 100 - 18MM - F20
Tripod and 2 sec timer
Taken from the Covington KY side of the Bridge on the pedestrian walkway

Whats a good place, A days drive from southeastern Michigan. To photograph fall color?

Hello -

I live in Rochester MI and often times take day trips in late September/early October to Northern Michigan - Bellaire, Traverse City area. The famous M-22 route starting from the North at Sleeping Bear Dunes is incredible. An earlier post mentioned Atlanta and Metamora - both good choices in early to Mid October. I visit the State Parks to view fall color - and Michigan has a lot of them. One of my favorite locations is just north of Clare -Lake George/Harrison area - around Mid October. If you can stretch it to a 2 day trip - The Upper Peninsula is spectacular - including Tehquamenon Falls.

I check Michigan.org's fall color update on a regular basis starting in Mid-September - Enjoy!!
