Just take note of where the picture was taken ;-)

Gritty is good, always good to be different and honest. Life isn't always thatched cottages with roses around the door.

Where abouts in Cambridgeshire are you I am in Peterborough.

I do some pretty pictures but I love to photograph people in their environment.

I'm in Chatteris, a real web footed Fenman :-)

I like it. And, I see no reason not to post your street photos as long as they're not obscene or in bad taste.

Thanks Larry. Definitely nothing obscene or in bad taste.

I think you are spot on, would have liked to get down to water level but couldn't . I thought "old paintings" when I saw the opportunity

I's all to easy to comment on the framing and composition of a picture but there are often physical restraints on where you can stand or what ugly thing is just out of frame. Obviously you didn't want to get your feet wet and muddy ;-)

Keep taking other thing besides birds but they keep sneaking in.
I think #1 makes the better pic but I also like the background fence, opinions please

I like #2, it is the better picture. John Constable springs to mind.
I think that perhaps a less tight crop would improve the picture, provided of course, that there were no undesirable elements just out of the frame. Also a lower viewpoint to reduce the space between the cow and the fence and including more foreground would prevent the cow from giving the appearance that it was standing on the bottom of the frame.

But I could be wrong ;-)

Good candid shot of life in the UK today.

Thanks.
I don't see much street photography on here, so I'm not sure if it's right to post it. I see there is a "People" section but that is almost entirely family portraits and some of my stuff is a bit "gritty"

Interesting shot. it almost looks like they are arguing.
Looking more closely around the photo, it seems pretty filthy there. Look at the ground below the pillar with the tariff(?)..yuk!

Both drunk and the lady was very amorous, the bloke was not so keen.
