C, thank you for your info. We are looking forward to our trip and your suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you for your generous offer regarding helping us around Zurich. We are adding an extra day in Zurich and it looks like we have the full days of September 29 and 30th. Departing on October 1. If we could work it out to meet, that would be great. My wife is hesitant to accept your invitation so let's leave the door open for a final confirmation.

Thanks for your detailed info. There is a lot of solid info that I will use to plan our trip.
Unfortunately, the tour we are taking does not give us a lot of time in Switzerland. We have only one full day in Lucerne and one full day in Zurich. I can probably get in some extra time to shoot early in the morning or early evening on travel days. I am thinking of adding an extra day in Zurich for an Alps day trip. Does this work or would I be better off doing the day trip out of Lucerne?
I looked at your photo website and was quite impressed. I can see that we both have similar interests in our photography. I was especially interested in your Myanmar photos. I had a trip planned there for January, 2018 but had to cancel due to the political unrest. It has been on my bucket list for a long time but it just didn't seem like the right time to go. Instead, we did a trip to southern India which was excellent (We had done northern India the previous year. If you haven't been to India, I highly recommend it.
My usual format for my photos are coffee table photo book done on Blurb. If you would like to see some of my work, you can find it at blurb.com. In the search box type in my last name "katunich". You should find a list of all of my books. I suggest you look for "That's Life, Volume III". This has a selection of my better photos covering several topic areas. Volumes I and II cover additional subject areas.
Again, thanks for reaching out with so much info.
Thanks for your input. I will be checking this out.
When I was there it was mid afternoon and no one was dining. I was outside having a beer and passed through on the way to the mens room. I thought the "egg" was pretty cool and worth taking a pic.
This is a photo from a restaurant off the main square in Lisbon, Portugal.

Anything I suggested above can be done by public transportation--train, mountain railways, aerial tramways, boats. What is cool is that all modes of transportation are integrated. If you want to travel to the Rigi from Lucerne, for instance, you start out at the boat dock in Lucerne that is right next to the train station. Once you arrive in Vitznau by boat, the train is just a few steps from the boat landing. There is signage everywhere--and you can ask people for directions. So everything is easy to navigate even for inexperienced novices. No guides necessary--in fact I can't think that such services even exist.

Your information has been very helpful and I am going to build my trip around your suggestions.
I may have replied by mistake to another responder.
Thanks so much for your detailed response. I looked at your photos and this is exactly what I would like to see. Can I access these areas on my own without a guide or will I need my own car to get from my city hotel to the sites?
From what I have seen of the scenery in Switzerland, I am hoping I'll be feeling a little closer to God myself.
I will do some research on your suggestions.
Thanks so much for your detailed advice. I checked out your photos and this is just what I was looking for. I am going to follow your suggestions. Is there any need for a guide or will I be able to access these areas on my own and without a car?
Can I reach this on my own without a car? Should I be hiring a guide?
Good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
I will follow through with more research on these areas. Thanks for the suggestions.
I am looking forward to our trip. Thanks for your suggestions
