I am restarting with my good old Standby a Nikon Coolpix E8700 W/ ER-E8 Adapter and a WE-E80 wide angle adapter Lens. I just order two fresh batteries and a new style charger, a new cable and upgraded the Flash Card. It will do me good to restart with this unit. I am considering purchasing a Sony A6300 Package, though what I read is disheartening. I am told Sony likes to create a new camera as often as they can and therefore neglects firmware updates and support on older units. I have read this negative in many different blogs on the Internet. I would be appreciative for any direction to topics and blogs, or just experience from all of you with your valued input.
I also need information on cleaning years of Arizona Dust of this unit and getting it ready to use. I know the old ways but appreciate any shortcuts?

Welcome to the forum. Your Bridge camera is an oldie but goodie that's about a dozen years old. Clean it up and use it until you decide to buy another one. I discovered that Sony was not too thrilled when the Sony a6300 had an overheating problem in video mode. Sony issued a firmware alert to correct this problem. Sony loves to crank out new cameras consistently. That seemingly will not stop. Black Friday is next month. There will be some good deals on cameras then, somewhere. Best Buy Store should be one. Also buying Refurbished and Open Box purchases with warranties are good options. Good luck.
