It Won't. Basically the bills put forward are "Feel Good" bills. We continue to put mentally ill people on the streets with government programs being cut. In the past a number of facilities have been closed and our wonderful government holds that type of thing over the heads of the many sheep we have in our society today. They threaten to cut the programs of people that are unable to fight back.... The country is in trouble. Remember the quote "Caeser fiddles while Rome burns" History always repeats itself. We study it or the rewritten versions of it and do not learn from our predecessors mistakes. All i want is the ability to protect my family and myself.... I want to be on an EQUAL footing with the criminal as i walk down the streets as a hopefully free man. I do not think that is too much to ask......

I need a person of some intelligence to explain just how a system of background checks will prevent criminals or mentally deranged persons from obtaining guns.
Bear in mind I have 10 years experience in running background checks (3-5 per day, average) for determining eligibility to purchase firearms.

I have already dealt with this nonsense argument of gun loving sophists. Large cities always have higher murder rates than smaller communities. Moreover, even the largest city is a small enough polity that its gun laws are easily thwarted by importing them from surrounding communities. Gun laws work to reduce murder rates in larger polities. Every country and every state that has strict gun laws sees in time a dramatic reduction of murder rates. The rest of the advanced world has not one country with higher than one half our own murder rate, and some of them have lower than 1/13. Why even waste my time with weak contentions, such as yours?

You have answered your own questions! Murder rates in chicago are way out of proportion to what you say. I agree big cities have more crime.... Remember Bernard Goetz on the newyork subway? Guess what happened after he protected himself and his life? Crime on the subways decreased by 75% for over 3 months..... Protection of me and my family comes way before any gun grabbing politian.... You did fail to answer the Australian problem.... their crime has increased over 19% because the criminals have no worry about armed citizens because the guns have been confiscated..... Think twice about giving up anything to anyone!!!
Oh and one last thought.... Why are you hiding? Or better yet what are you hiding from?
Have a great day

This is total sophistry. There are far more cars in the country than motor vehicles, and without motor vehicles the economy would break down to the point of costing far more lives through starvation than those currently lost in auto accidents. If we got rid of all guns in private hands, however, the death rate would plunge with no negative side. Guns were invented for one purpose; to kill and to maim. Killing and maiming was not even a peripheral purpose for the invention of motor vehicles.[/quote]

Amazing information! Chicago with the strictest gun laws on the books has the WORST murder rate in the country.... How do you explain that? Ask an aussie about their confiscations of guns and the skyrocketing crime rate? Better think twice before you give up the rights your ancestors fought so hard to maintain....

Comparing guns to cars is ludicrous and you know it.

I beg to differ. I am willing to bet there's one hell of a lot more crazy people driving cars than carrying guns. Out of 15,000 federal gun crimes only 44 were prosecuted according to a news article i read a while back...... Fix the problem and quit taking law abiding citizens rights away..... my two cents worth

Actually I use a Ziekos battery grip on my 50D. I does everything as advertised, and is even better than the Canon. Canon grips are notorious for stripping the mounting screw gear. Once the little gear is stripped it will not grip the mounting screw, and you cannot remove the grip. My only complaint about gripping my 50D is I have to remove the battery door on the bottom of the camera. It's small, flat, something easy to loose. The grip works great, in the normal landscape position, and the vertical position. In the vertical position there is a remote shutter release, *button, and # button, just like the built in buttons on the body. It also has a tripod/monopod attachment threaded on the bottom. When loaded on the camera it adds a little weight and heft to the body. I hope this helps a bit.

On the meike grip the vertical post that goes into the D90 has a place to store the door from my camera.... The Meike for the D7000 plugs directly into the bottom of the camera so no problem there.....

Can anyone tell me about off market battery grips? I found one at B&H Photo...Velo BG-C8 for around $230. Then I found a few on Amazon... Xit XTCG6D around $90. Then when you look on ebay you find them anywhere from $33 on up.

Anyone have any experience with any of these off market brands or should I stick with the Canon brand?

Thank you!

I have two Meike grips. One for my D90 and one for my D7000 absolutely love both of them. Bought off of amazon and got quick delivery.

I live in Darien/Downers Grove area. I've had these birds the last few years, especially the yellow finches male and females. The yellow finches really like the yellow thistle feeder for some reason. Last year our old yellow one fell apart and we got a new red one, then i hardly saw them so went and bought the yellow one and there back. I really like the downy woodpecker (female). Haven't seen the male yet, same colors but with red on top of the head. Hope they stay around. Male and female cardinals are always here.

Ahh, Not far from me..... My daughters father in law is in downers grove and we like to go out taking pictures..... I have at least a pair of cardinals all the time..... She is CRAZY though... likes to hit any window in the house.... she will do it for hours at a time... The male just watches..... I have put up various pieces of screen to keep her from doing that and it seems to work.....

I went outside for 10 mins yesterday watching the birds at my feeders I have in my front yard. I couldn't believe how many different ones came by within the 10 mins. These are a few of my favorites.

Very nice birds.... In what part of Illinois do you reside? Near Chicago ohare here and not nearly as much of a variety yet.... Seems they come to the feeder eat fast and vanish... Maybe it is too cold out yet?

I love low angle photos and I'd love to take some but with my lousy hips and knees, getting down there is a one way trip and usually requires a major rescue operation to regain my feet. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get my D7000 closer to the ground and still be able to compose a shot? Keep it civil please.

Try this..... I have visited them in Waukegan IL. Very helpful people

How can I change the size of a pdf I print? I downloaded the chart below, but when I use the Print feature, there doesn't seem to be any way to control the size. I clicked on the various Size options, but all I got was the one size.

I finally enlarged it on the screen and did a PrtScn to print it larger as a graphic.

Click on Download below to see the chart.

If you are a microsoft office user.... Word does a great job of editing pdf files..... Wife had a bunch of power point files that needed fixing from her work... brought them in and saved as pdf after editing....
Pdf Means Just that Portable Document File meaning no matter what platform you open the file for display it will look and print the same.... Apple windows linux etc.

I just bought a usb card at Tiger Direct if your computer has a spare slot you can drop another card in for faster results....The cards are pretty cheap... less than 20 bucks for a usb 2 card... That is the easiest solution and gives you a few more ports to boot.

Started in the 8th grade... Aunt gave me an old Exakta with a couple of lens's... Built a darkroom under the second story eaves of the house.... Eventually my dad got interested and we built a nice darkroom in a corner of the basement.... Did lots of scenery to start having lived near lake Michigan.... Later enjoyed doing some news type of photography and sold a few to the local paper.
Been taking pictures ever since.... First digital was a Casio that took very small pictures.... Now a Nikon fan....
