Admin tells us what that clause "basically says"
The point I made in that post and that I still maintain is this: there isn't a judge out there who would uphold those disclaimers if I wanted to steal your images.
The disclaimers would only be good as defensive tool.

and yet I don't want to have to defend my ownership in court, now, or ever.
If I or someone else steals your images and you decide to take action, then you would have to go to court regardless of what the disclaimers state.
So what good would having different disclaimers do for the users? If you can come up with a good response to this, then I'll definitely consider changing them in the near future.
But there is one condition. The response should be about the well-being of any given user individually -- not some hypothetical about the forum's future in general.

It would seem to me that if admin wants the continued success of this site, then the rules should be re-written to say what admin says it says and means. It is just not that difficult........ I can make the change, in a few minutes, at no cost if it's a matter of financial considerations.
That sounds like a fair offer. But let me ask you this:
Let's imagine you make some changes to the disclaimers and I post them. Down the road, I get sued because there is a loophole in your text. Will you compensate me for the costs, damages, and legal fees I'll have incurred?
Does this still sound like a simple matter if we put it this way? :)
The truth is, I plan on changing the disclaimers. But before I do, I want to see how the forum evolves so that I can instruct the attorney who would be drafting them on the specifics that need to be covered. The earliest I'm going to look into this matter seriously is probably February-April 2012.
