Hi Craig...

Do you think Piccure Plus will become a part of your arsenal to assist you in your post processing endeavors?

I have the 30 day trials on Topaz and Piccure Plus and I find PP to be quick and easy with Piccure Plus.
It has only Sharpening, Optical Aberration, Blur and Noise.
Then let Lightroom do the rest.

Baader film filters are known for sharpness and quality.
I make all of my filters from Baader sheets.
I am about to post a shot from this morning with a homemade 77mm Baader filter.

Amen to that, I tried the cheap solar films from eBay and I can't get a good focus.

Wow! I think that you left that one in the oven too long, looks a little overcooked to me. I prefer the original much more than I do an image that is over sharpened and saturated to the point that it is greatly distorted. PP enhancements are good but they must be subtle.

It reminds me of a 1940's postcard or National Geographic where they used 2 color processing.
But everyone knows what looks good to them.

Do you use a tool that will show you where you are focused?

For Lightroom I can see where my focus actually was by using the showfocuspoint tool plugin....

Where do I find the ""showfocuspoint tool plugin""
Thanks

Shot with my Canon 7D 300mml with 1.4 extender.
Homemade 77mm Baader filter fills out the list.
Trimmed and lightly prod in Light room 5
The Baader filter adds no color to the photo and since the sun is sending us white light, that is the color you usually get with these filters. I added color to simulate what we see through all of the air and particles in the air.

Love the way you track the Sunspots for us.Keep up the great work, you have come a long way. It's fun to watch your progress.

PS: Where do you get your Baader Film

I have recently been getting a number of blocked virus messages from the popups on this site while changing from group to group.
Is anyone else seeing this activity?
I had one that manage to squeak in and it took some effort to remove.
Thanks.

I never click the popups so I didn't pay any attention to them until you had this problem so I added AdBlock to my Chrome and now there is nothing going on with my computer.

Hello Douglass or anyone,
If you get a chance could you look at the Canon Lens Cap 100% and tell me about the blue and red vertical edges I see in the far right 'N'. Thank you, Craig

Algol very nice work. I do so enjoy your artform You have been busy as a beaver here of late.
Great job. Where are you that you get all these clear skies or are you processing earlier work?
I have a stack of folders I should work instead of complaining about the bad weather

Did you get a chance to download the Piccure Plus? Do you plan on using it as a stand-alone or as a Photoshop plugin?
In the "Rock" I used Piccure Plus as a plugin through Lightroom and all the work was gone in there, it is a user friendly program. And works pretty well. If I really wanted to nit-pick I would go to Topaz. Thanks for the heads-up on Piccure Bruce.

Piccure Plus is much faster and easier but Topaz might have finer tuning abilities but takes more effort and work. Piccure plus will get you into the ballpark quicker and does a good job but I still use PSE12 and Photofiltre for some fine tweaking.
Thank you Bruce. I just downloaded Piccure Plus and will post a shot or 2 on 'True Macro-Photography Forum'
