[quote=vicksart]Vultures are everywhere in this area. Sometimes I see 10-15 circling...and reminding me to keep moving. ;-)
Come to South Florida and you can see 100s circling. There is a roost here in Boynton Beach in an undeveloped lot behind a McDonalds where several hundred take to the skies daily at dawn if there is a wind. They can almost turn the sky black. I love to watch them soar.
Great shots and good luck with the Tammy. I love mine.
Great shots and lens. Those little birds can often be trickier than the big boys!
Good example of conflict and resolution. Nice shots.
I have two I use as paper weights on my desk. Thanks for being a Minolta photographer.
I wish I had that many species hanging around my house. Nice way to start a day.
And you got favorite bird. Great job.
Next level; catch him in flight.
Bob
I believe the size of the sensor is important too. A 24 megapixel full frame camera will give a better shot than the same number on an APS-C.
Agree, the old Minolta 300mm F2.8 weighs about 5 pounds and I can handle that for most circumstances; or just use a gimbal. Not that much heavier than the 3 pounds for the F4.
Thanks.
I think I will go the other way and add on an older and heavier F2.8 300mm to add to my F4 version But I will be patient.
I have been happy with my Minolta 300mm F4 but now you have me thinking about the F2.8 version again. Reading this could cost me a alot of money!
I wish my neighbors looked that good!
I took several pictures of two hawks at a local cemetery that could be siblings of this guy. Several bird pro friends of mine are still bickering if it is a Coopers or Sharp-shinned hawk.
Nice shots. Those Great Blue Herons are amazing birds.
There are hundreds of these vultures that roost nightly in a mangrove behind a McDonalds here in Boynton Beach, FL. I love watching them take off every morning at sunrise if there is enough wind for them to soar. They can not get very far without the wind. Some mornings they almost turn the sky black soaring almost effortlessly.
