The last image of the two Eagles is a prize winner. Sharp, great color and composition.

Fun action shots, but that last one - portrait of a happy couple - just wow! Perfect light and poses. Love it.

Thank you Linda.

I'm always up for critique. Eagles bunch up at the river in our town making it easier to find them. At times there were more than 20 in an isolated area with 5 or more in the air at a given time. It was also really cold for this photographer.

Joanne, save your money for now and don't shop for lenses at this point. Learn to use what you have and the workings of your camera and present lenses. You would only be throwing your money away. Just enjoy using your current setup. Have fun!

Amen to that! Honestly, I started here with a very basic knowledge and could work the Auto. After awhile, I found help here and gathered a good working knowledge of my camera and started going to manual. Night classes at the local junior college were very reasonable, for my $60 for 8 classes that gave me an incredible amount help. Start with what you have.

I guess I found my on "mentors" here by listening to the people I could relate to.

Linda, I appreciate this topic. Through the years I have been here, I seemed to gravitate toward a few people that critiqued my photos in a way that resonated with me. I always opened myself up for critique and when I got it I knew who I should listen to and who I should ignore. I knew I needed help and they were kind enough to give me the help I needed and allowed me to ask for more help. Your suggestions are wonderful but with the anonymous aspect of the internet and this website there will always be, and continue to grow, those who use this as a way to boost their ego by cruelty.

Talked to Gregory today and realized we need to talk more. Just because we aren't on UHH as much we need to keep in touch with each other. So, here we go. Periodically, take some time once a month and show us a picture and tell us how you are doing. I'll start.

It's been a whirlwind year but I've had some fun and some hard work. Here are a few of my newest eagle shots.

Thank you Gregory for motivating me to keep in touch. We need to.
