I was surprised by the number of cars in
my archives that were sporting variations
of the color purple.

Thanks for hosting, Leslie.

Since April 9th would be my mom's 101st birthday, I'll start with
two pictures of her. The first would have been taken in 1942, and
the second one of her was taken two years after I moved her in
with us in 2002. She obviously liked the color purple.

The third picture is one I took in the Outer Banks.

Happy Birthday in Heaven, Mom. Love you!

Back in 1988 we signed a contract with a realtor to purchase one of his listings and to sell our home as well, with the contingency that we would take ownership of the new home after he sold our existing home. Well, he sold the home we wanted to buy, so I took down his "For Sale" sign that was on our property, then went to his office and tore up our contract. He said he was going to sue, which I found laughable in that he was the one that broke the contract and that's exactly what I told him, "So, sue me!"

I went to another realtor, listed my property with them as well as a contract to build a new home for us. Never did hear from the original realtor.

Here are some images from our favorite vacation spot; the Florida Keys.

You might recognize this abandoned bridge; it was used in the film "True Lies" with Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

A very old York Safe & Lock company safe left outside for decades. The ficus tree grew right through it.

This Challenge is for all things Rusty. Got some good Rusty Stuff? This is the place to share it, We'd Love to see it!

Thanks for hosting, Leslie. I'm really enjoying everybody's images,
and only came across a copy "rusty" images in my archives.

The first four were from our trip through the Great Smokey Mountains
and the Gatlinburg area, and the last three are from around PA.

Snow became saturated with sleet and rain making 4-8" of ice to be cleared. We still have power but many do not. Church was canceled (rare) because even the huge plows and bucket loaders were having trouble trying to clear the lot. I don't have a lot to offer for today, Larry and all. Just this bluebird - one of the few I managed to get with wings spread.

Beautiful image, Pat, and so glad you folks weathered yet another storm!

Been very busy lately and had to say goodbye to one of our pets Tuesday morning. 03/19/2024
And it has hit me very hard...So this is a recent photo of her with a card sent from vet, very thoughtful.
So cherish you loving pets.

So very sorry for your loss, Bob! Family pets always add so much
to our lives, and I know Sheba did that and more for you. God Bless!

It's FreeSunday once again. No subject to stick too so show us all something you've shot that haven't matched any of the challenges presented yet. I'll start with these few to kick it off. I'll look for yours!

Wow Larry! Your backyard is beautiful! Whoever did it, did a great job!

Thanks for hosting.

In Pat's challenge, I mentioned that when my mom "downsized" all her collections, she sold off all her cherished tea sets and unique tea pots which were purchased by Mr. Ed's Elephant Museum and Candy Emporium.

Here are three pictures of her most cherished tea pots. Miss you, Mom!

Well, folks, we haven't lost power but after more inches of snow than I care to measure, we are now in the sleet/freezing rain category. Just delightful and typical of March tricks up here.

Here are my finals with many thanks for your participation...

A Sweet bluebird enduring the snow today and a bite or 2 of a Maine Whoopie pie. Topped off with one birthday cake.

As always, your pictures were succulent and the challenge was fun. Thanks, Pat!

Glad you enjoyed, Joe. I never knew there were so many types of Pez dispensers until we saw them at Mr. Ed's.

SO great to see yu, Tim! What an array of delights... And what a weird combo - elephants and candy. Of course, if one eats too much candy I suppose they could become as big as an elephant.

Thank you, Pat, and I'm glad you liked these images. Mr. Ed's has been around since 1975 and after his death a year or so ago, his grandchildren now run the place, that has over 12,000 elephant figurines and every type of candy known to man as well as an expansive tea set collection. When my mom was downsizing, she had a yard sale and sold her entire collection of tea pots and tea sets, most of which were truly unusual.

Image my surprise when the first time I took two of my granddaughters up to Mr. Ed's, we saw three of mom's most unusual tea pots. That memory and the knowledge so many people get to see them warms my heart.
