Nice. So are you taking a photo and overlaying it with a 5-panel pane? Or breaking it up into 5 segments and separating them a bit?

Opens the door to other arrangement possibilities.

DF No just taking one pix slicing it to parts and making as in this case 5 slices sizing them and arranging them as layers. Although the pix with the flowers was a previous constructed image, so there are quite a few steps here. Thanks for looking and commenting. RBorud

Hi All I have been playing with another idea I call Pentic's. Using 5 pane creations, and trying for as much three dimensional as I can. Takes time but I am kind of please with them. Have done a few so here is one for your perusal. Thanks for looking and please enjoy. RBorud

There is a puzzle that I can't crack. Is there an answer? Is it possible to shoot a very close up pic of a flower, getting detail of the pistil and stamen. Would want to have crisp edges on the petals. That would be without photo stacking. Have used my Canon 100 mm with extension tube's and gotten close, but no cigar. Played with F stops, SS speeds, and ISO. Mixing them. Let the camera pick the ISO, while I picked the other two. What kind of success have any of you had? What was your set up? Would love to crack this without using photo stack, but am willing to give in. Eventually. Love to hear back from you all.

PS This would be with using a Macro lens. Have challenged myself to get better with this lens. Is there way?

Hi BocaMac I sent you the information about the shift adaptor. I looked and I realized I added the wrong pix, so here is the right one, sorry. Rborud

Hi BocaMac I do do a good bit of Macro and close up photography, a method no one has mentioned to do what you are trying to is using shift/tilt lenses on you camera. Do not faint I do not suggest buying one of these, they do do bodily injury to ones checkbook or credit card. I use a small adapter sometimes in the situation you describe you are in. I am including a pix. One works only in manual and close. The good thing it lengthens the depth of field a good bit. Mine is Nikon but I do believe mount is in several mounts.
I must say it does take a bit of practise but I have had quite good luck with it. I found the source in ebay.
And paid around $70.00 for it. It also twists to both horizontal and vertical. You might consider it.. RBorud

Hi All I was experimenting with merging one image into another with this synergistic result I was quite satisfied with and was pleasantly surprised. I call it ( An Artist Palette ). Thanks for looking and please enjoy. RBorud

Here’s something I haven’t been able to figure out, so maybe someone can set me straight. I have had lenses that had macro capability, but weren’t designated as a macro lens, per se. So basically they were nothing more than a regular lens that had a closer focusing ability. So my question is, does a true macro lens such as the Nikon 105 micro or the sony 90mm or 30mm E-mount lenses function as a “normal” lens, that is, being able to focus to infinity like any other lens or is their focusing limited to just very close in? Before I spend any money on a lens I’d like to know what its limitations are. I ask because I have a set of extension tubes for my A6300, but they sure are a pain to work with. Thanks.

Wingpilot As others have said yes any macro will focus to infinity. As a matter of fact I use a collection of different focal length macro lenses as primes, they are far less expensive, and some work even better, even older ones. RBorud

Two separate exposures, two separate treatments.

Cany I too feel the B&W has the feeling of the viewer being suspended in a feeling of tension. The color has a more feeling of trying to exist. Odd as in my case I tend to favor color. Thanks RBorud
