The horse is a Fjord Horse. They are a small breed of draft horse from Norway. They are used for both riding and harness. They are all pretty much the color you see. The roached mane with a black stripe down the middle of it is a dead give away.

Could be a Fjord horse ,however since the photo was taken in France and the Percheron was originated in the Huisne valley of western France, I think I'll stick to my answer

They are not as bright as you have in the east, but they are OK.

I think the colors are a very close rival to the colors around here, and I love your pictures , especially #2

Some time ago while planning a trip to Las Vegas I posted a request for suggestions of low light polution areas near there to photo the stars. Of the many great suggestions I received, the most useful were suggestions that I use one of the many light pollution websites or apps. One app I found was most useful was The Light Pollution Map. Now I can go anywhere in the wold and find the closest-best star shooting. This was my first attempt and I have a big learning curve, but it was a great adventure. The photo below has not yet been processed. I went to the Valley of Fire State Park an hour northeast of Las Vegas. Concerned about the sign saying CLOSED AT SUNDOWN I told the very nice park ranger what I was doing. I was told to stay close to the road and be obvious what I was doing and it should not be a problem, and it wasn't. I was using a NIKKOR 50mm 1:1.4 G lens for 13 secs. Not happy about the focus, but there was a lot of wind (adding to my learning curve, in the middle of the desert, at night, who 'da thunk) and had to position the camera in the crook of my car's door jamb to mitigate the wind. Any way, after a lot of unnecessary jabber, thank y'all again for all that responded.

Here are some shots I took of Fall Foliage. My aim was to avoid the usual shots, while still showing the beauty of the Autumn colors. I would appreciate any comments, and, if you have time, to give a score to each one, based on my goals.

Also, I would appreciate comments in general, my goals be damned, and scoring for them, also.

Thanks in advance to those who can do this for me.

Well I can't go into the deep discussions as you guys do but I know what I like and
all I can say is that I like your pictures. all of them

Only fifteen came to our house, compared with eighteen last year, and over one hundred twenty years ago. Fortunately, I bought a lot of candy that I like.

How many did you get?

Only 3, seems to be fewer every year. All the neighborhood kids have outgrown the tradition

Bought this Nikon 80-200 f4.5-5.6D lens from Hunts on EBAY that wouldn’t auto focus to use as a parts lens if ever needed or to use for a display lens on one of my cameras. Well it looked new so I put it on my D810 and took a few hand held. Took one inside and a few outside with a breeze. I think it works well (I also have a tremor). I think this will be a great learning lens for my 14 year old Granddaughter. Love deals

good buy. it looks like you got more than your monies worth

Found another thrift store goodie......for $5.00. Was this good or what? It's a Cullmann 2901.

Found this tripod that will do just about anything, and get into just about any position. It will pan tilt, hold two cameras or a camera and two flash units for copying. Mount the camera on the bottom and get to within inches of the floor. Everything is quick release. All movements are friction or free moving. I can't think of what it won't do. It's German-made. I tried to find some info on it but can not.

One with an arrow drawn is pointing to a slot with clamping screws, that I do not know what the slot is for. Some kind of another attachment, but for what I can not figure out.

The head does come off and is attachable to another tripod, which is good because the only thing I do not like is the legs are not independently adjustable, with that bottom stabilizer, which is not good on uneven grounds.

I walk around my complex every day 5 times around which makes a mile and a 1/4. This little dog named Peanut waits for me every day to pass by and pet him. The owner lets him out on her porch and he sits on a chair and watches for me. She is putting up a screen around her porch and this is the last time I could get a shot of him peeking over the railing. An art gallery is having an "Animal Photo" contest-exibit and I'm going to enter this picture.

I like it very much...good luck on your contest entry
