Hello,

I am going to Antarctica from late December to early January.

The camera I have used for the last few years for all my world travels is:
Sony RX100 VII (M7) with its 24-200 lens.
I have been very pleased with the results.
I am 80 and really like its size, weight and IQ.

Would this camera suffice for Antarctica?
Any information including settings/photo hints) and even about the trip
itself, would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning, I have been a headshot photographer for many years and have also done parties, weddings and so on. I have never attempted to shoot holiday photos but I would like to add that to my services. I’m wondering if anybody here has experience in shooting holiday photos, and would maybe have any tips. I would be doing this in my home and would have room for a 7 x 10‘ backdrop, or I can just shoot on a green screen and superimpose it on it to a digital backdrop. I need props and if so does anyone have a resource to getting those props, and may be a good place to download digital files to superimpose my green screen photos. I know I’m asking a lot but I’m trying to do as much investigation work as I can, and possibly try to start this Christmas. Thank you all have an awesome day.

I need some advice and help. I have an IMac using Big Sur version 11.6.8. I subscribe to Photoshop 2020. I can’t browse on Lightroom because it constantly crashes when I click on a file containing my photos. It is very difficult to load my photos directly into Photoshop. I need some advice and/or help.
Or I would consider trying another photo editing program that is simple to use. I just do simple things such as cropping lightening/darkening adjust colors etc. I would appreciate any suggestions you have as I am very frustrated and my fun level has decreased significantly.

My eye doctor's practice changes hands about every two years, so I don't even try to keep up with the current name. While I was sitting in the waiting room from 10:15 - 11:00, I read all the advertising by the latest owner - Optum. "Take Your Health to the Next Level." I'm not a big fan of "the next level," because I don't see it meaning anything. But taking your health up a level? How many levels are there? Is eternal life in there somewhere? Would I have to become a vampire?

I got to the little exam room at 11:00, and the eye doc showed up promptly at 11:45. I was back in my car at 12:00. Luckily, it was a cloudy day, so my dilated eyes weren't a problem.

In the Catskills, Delaware County spotters in Delhi are predicting peak and just-past-peak leaves with 80-95% color transition and stunningly brilliant shades of orange and red. In Greene County, foliage is peaking in Windham and should remain so through the weekend, with almost total change and very brilliant red, orange, yellow, and purple leaves. Peak foliage will arrive in the Town of Catskill, with very brilliant yellow and orange leaves, along with bright touches of red. In Sullivan County, foliage spotters in Liberty predict peak foliage with 70% color change and bright orange, red, and yellow leaves. Forestburgh foliage will also peak with 75% leaf change and very brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow, along with background colors of peach, wine, and green. In Ulster County, reports from Kingston predict foliage at midpoint of change with more than 50% transition and bright green, yellow, and orange leaves.

This was last week's report. This week should be out soon. Drove the Taconic State Parkway from I-84 to I-90 last week, I'd say the leaves were at about 50-60 percent of peak.

The Taconic is a good compromise of easy driving and beautiful scenery with a few pull-offs and quick access to a couple of state parks, e.g., https://parks.ny.gov/parks/laketaghkanic/maps.aspx. Plus no trucks (in contrast to the Thruway), although on the east side of the Hudson. Routes 9 and 9W are much more developed and congested.

The stretch of Parkway between NYC and I-84 is also scenic, but as I recollect more curvy and not with the sweeping vistas of the northern section.
