I have a Nikon D3400 with a new 10-20MM lens. All firmware/software has been updated to current level. All the pictures taken outdoors are approximately 1 to 2 stops over exposed. Indoor pictures are fine. In the view finder everything looks fine. The histogram for pictures in camera is blown out to the right in highlights.
Also in this day and age, if you pull out a phone to take a picture, no one cares. BUT if you pull out a camera or DLSR, everyone starts running for the hills as they don't want their picture taken. What's going on ???
Yes you can get good pictures with a phone. Yes you can get good pictures with a DSLR. It all depends on the user. In my humble opinion, I look at it this way. With a phone you can take picture. With a DSLR you can take a photograph.
Even with the over processing, it does give it that kind of "magical" feeling to it. Just waiting for Darby O'Gill and King Bryan with all the little people to show up.
