I learned about "master photographers" many years ago. I was a total novice & entered a local contest. One of my black & whites got severely panned by the "expert" for "out of control dodging & burning." I had no idea what dodging & burning was & had done zero retouching on the print. My first big lesson in photography. Listen to any suggestions, that is the polite thing to do. Use only what will work for YOU, that is the smart thing to do. I like your work.
I spent some time over the weekend at a gathering of dogs with their humans. My wife is very involved is the rescue of Shiba Inu breed dogs. If you ever decide to get a dog of any breed, check first with your local rescue. Of course I took some photos.
John, I grew up & lived the first part of my life in Cloverdale. Catarack Falls was one of our favorite places to hang out. Glen
Accept paypal, USPS Money order or even a personnel check. The ball head has been sold however. The monopod is still available.
Am selling my MAD49A monopod. It is 21" compressed & 75" fully extended. The monopod has a small scuff near the label. On Amazon the monopod sells for $ 69.95. If interested PM me.

Monopod - $40
Some of your suggestions are right on. A little duct tape, a remote trigger, & a REALLY long extension chord. (I like to shoot wildlife) What could go wrong?
Last week I ordered a Carbon Fiber monopod from Amazon. (Actually, my wife orders for me since she always finds a way to get discounts that I can't & she usually is setting on some item she wants but does not cost enough to get free shipping.) Good news. The order arrived today. Bad news. I received a 40 inch oscillating house fan instead of a monopod. We have contacted Amazon & someone named Ron in some other part of the world is trying to figure out what happened. The package has the correct info on it & everything else is correct, routing, tracking, etc. My bet is that some scanner somewhere read a bar code wrong. Anyway, my GAS has been surppressed & I await further developments. Hope I get my monopod soon.
Misread my Eastern Bird Book. These are Barn Swallows, not Tree Swallows.
There is a very nice marsh area just a few minutes from my house. Every time I go there I find something to photograph. Yesterday it was Tree Swallows & Dragonflies.
Went on a scouting trip to a nearby nature center that I haven't visited in a while. Too many people. I'll go back during the week when I can see more critters & fewer people. I, however, did get a few photos to share.
A couple wildlife portraits you probably don't often see on UHH
Like them all, but the last one rings my bell.
Found this photo on my neighbor's house.
I recently found 2 35mm Film Processing Canisters with 4 reels. One canister will hold 4 rolls of film & the other 2 rolls. Does anyone out there still process their own film and want this equipment? If so, PM me with an offer. Please consider shipping cost in your offer.
Love them all!!! Just for fun on #4 crop out the white clouds at the top. To me, they interrupt the mood & emotion of the photo. Still, even with the white cloud, it is my favorite.
