OMG I want it, too! My brother had a blue car one. I vaguely remember fighting over whose turn it was.

You make me want to break down and get a kitty. We haven't had one for several years and hubby is mildly allergic but since our old dog died last year I miss having a pet.
I love the one that shows kitty drinking from the faucet!

Great set! My favorite is the line of pelicans waiting for the show!

Ya beat me to it - I have both Pileated Woodpeckers and Maple trees (among others) and if the woodpeckers are digging/pecking in the tree, it already has issues!!

I don't doubt it! Not ready to have it taken down yet and it will be costly when we do because of size and proximity to the house but we have a good tree guy we could use that did a great job with the other one. Amazing how those tree trimmers can drop branches without hitting things! But it would be sad to see it go!

He's in Texas. I saw him last weekend. He was hammering on a old pecan tree. Took of before I could get a mug shot

Must have been fueling up there for the flight north!

If he is pecking on the maple tree, it already has rotting wood and insects. That is what they are after.

Its sister on the other side of the driveway had to be taken down about seven years ago because she was half dead and threatening to crush our car. The original house was built ca 1930 so we think this huge tree is that old. And we had a branch removed proactively on this one that was hanging over the house.

When I scrolled to the third shot I immediately began thinking of the Woody Woodpecker cartoons. They we great.

Their call is just as loud, too, very distinctive. I sure wouldn't want to be at the business end of that beak!

This morning I found all these wood chips on our snowy lawn.
They came from our big maple tree.
We suspect the pileated woodpecker who viciously attacked the dead pine stump in front last year (seen here last June).
If you see him, please let him know he should stick to the pine tree. We'd like to see the maple outlive us.

Beautiful photo of a beautiful area! Our folks took us camping there in 1955. We were 8, 5, 4, and 1. We were tent camping next to a snowbank by the lake. Not my Mom's favorite trip, but Dad took us hiking across the avalanche tailings for short hikes. From current maps it doesn't look like you can drive up that far now?

Maybe the OP should repost so he doesn't have to read through all this kerfuffle?
