All of the photos are great. The last photo is spectacular. I wonder what the eagle and the bird thought of at that moment.

Found this guy sitting on a stump next to a river soaking wet. We thought he might be injured, we approached fairly close, he refused to fly. We started to talk about calling the Wildlife Service. He finally flew away to a group of eagles sitting on a sand bar. Please try downloads.

Great set of photos.

And thank you for your service.

Bill Clinton was impeached by the House, then exonerated by the Democrat Senate, I see the Dems are the party of law and order. Not only that, Clinton's cult followers re-elected him after he was impeached and "pardoned" by Senate Dems.

Bill Clinton was re-elected President in November 1996 and his second term began on January 20, 1997. The impeachment of Clinton began in December 1998 and he was acquitted in the senate trial in February 1999. Both events occurred well into the second term of Clinton.

Wow - someone is off their meds... NO ONE is "ignoring" the other 2500 POWs. McCain was considered a hero because he refused to jump the line to be released early as a POW which the North Vietnamese would have done because his father was a member of congress. I think most POWs respect that.

BTW: sadly for our democracy MOST of our representatives have bought their way in to the ranks of congress. McCain tried to do something about that by working with the dems to pass the McCain Feingold Act which limited big-dollar contributions. Now, of course, the Supreme Court has ruled that "businesses are people" and that "money is speech" so big corporations, organizations (such as unions) and billionaires can but all the politicians they want.

I agree with most of what you said. However, McCain’s father was not a member of Congress when he was shot down. McCain’s father was a high ranking admiral in the Navy when his son was shot down and taken prisoner.

National Park Ranger stands before the statue of the Minuteman at Minuteman National Historical Park in Concord, Massachusetts.
The statue cast from seven left over civil war cannons, was dedicated in 1875, one hundred years after the start of the American
Revolution. The sculptor was a young 23 year old named Daniel Chester French. French was also the creator of the seated Abraham
Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.

The base of the Minuteman Statue is inscribed with the words "By the rude bridge their flag to April's breeze unfurled. Here once
the embattled farmers stood and fired the shot heard round the world."
The verse is part of a poem known as the Concord Hymn written by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Very nice.

The Daniel Chester French studio, known as Chesterwood is located in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. It is a beautiful location and well worth a visit for anyone who loves sculpture and history.

I enjoyed all 24 or so minutes of the flight. On the Oshkosh pic, Fond du Lac is in the foreground - we took off from Appleton. My parents winter in Venice, FL. If you're an EAA member and you pre-book, it's $409, $435 on site, but they usually sell out. If you're not an EAA member you can still buy a ticket, but it's more expensive ($30 or $40), but includes a one-year membership. EAA has several subsections each with different additional subscription rates, magazines, etc, like Warbirds, Vintage, Homebuilt, Seaplane - probably one or two others. I have a couple of Oshkosh posting up now and am processing more now. I have one pic done, but want to have several at once. Before fighter escort the average B-17 lasted only 7 missions and, per sortie, the loss rate was like 30%.

My mother’s brother was a tail gunner on a B-17 that was shot down on December 9, 1944 while on a bombing run over Germany. He along with 7 of the 8 other crew members bailed out of the plane and were taken prisoner by the German’s. The pilot of the plane went down with the plane and died.

My uncle rarely talked about the war and his time as a prisoner of war. On the rare occasion he spoke about his experience, he mentioned that he never wanted to be that cold or hungry ever again.

I have been able to find out a lot of information about the aircraft and crew members that my uncle flew on. It has filled in a lot of the gaps in our family’s knowledge of my uncle’s time as a POW.

The Greatest Generation.

Great photos.

I was at the air show on Sunday. Very hot and humid. The show was great and the thunderbirds were fantastic.

With regards to traffic, we were quite lucky. We got to the base before 8:00 AM. Did not encounter delays in either arriving at the base or leaving the base even though we stayed to the end of the thunderbirds demonstration.

Nice photo.

I visited Badlands National Park back in 2000. To me, it looked like the pictures we have seen of the moon’s landscape. Your photo captures that feeling for me.

As a Trump supporter I am now a cult follower. That is the latest label that the liberal politicians have used to insult Trump advocates. But somehow they supported the love affair they had with the "Smartest person in the room". Isn't it interesting that they have to resort to insults. I have allways believed that when person A insults person B, person A just lost the argument.

Your argument is flawed in that Trump insults everyone who dares to disagree with him.

While taking the walking trail around NAS Whidby Island WA the other day, an eagle was just sitting on a pole next to the bay. Not affected by people or a/c, he seemed pretty well adapted to the numerous on-goings around him. Even the jet noise of jets taking off & landing didn't bother him which was not more than 100 yards from the end of the runway. The walking trail is directly off the end of the runway as can be seen by the F-18 on its take off roll. Loud, mighty loud.....JPG's straight out of the camera

As part of the D-Day invasion, US Army Rangers, under the command of Colonel James Rudder, were tasked with scaling the 100' cliffs to attack and neutralize German gun emplacements that could range on Utah and Omaha Beaches with their 155 mm howitzers, which had been removed before D-Day. Of the 225 Rangers in the assault, only 90 survived. Pont du Hoc was a location I have read about but being there was very emotional.

I visited Normandy in 2014. The visit to point du hoc was indeed very emotional. I cannot imagine what the Army Rangers who first scaled that wall went thru on the morning of June y, 1944. The Greatest Generation.

The following comments are not meant as political commentary. Go to YouTube or Google Ronald Reagan and Point du Hoc and find the video of Reagan’s speech at the dedication of the memorial to the Rangers on the 40th anniversary of the D Day invasion. Some say it was Reagan’s greatest speech. Who am I to argue?

In a couple of weeks we will be taking a river cruise from Basil Switzerland to Amsterdam. We have a couple days in both Basil and Amsterdam on our own. Any recommendations of what to do and photograph while we are in these cities? Thanks in advance for your help.

In amsterdam, The Anne Frank house should be #1 on your places to visit. I visited Amsterdam and other parts of Europe in 2014 and my visit to Anne Frank’s House was the most memorable stop in Amsterdam. Very evocative and sobering to think of what that young girl went through in her time on this planet.

Be sure to get your tickets in advance. The house is the number 1 attraction in Amsterdam and the lines to enter the house without a reservation in advance are long.

I agree with the comments about the rijksmuseum. Very impressive and worth a visit even if you are not an art aficionado (I include myself in that category).

Enjoy your trip.
